Happy Buddha is delicious! 1/2/2008

As a vegetarian for 16 years, I have searched high and low for the best veggie restaurants. This is one of my favorites, though my husband loves it too and he is not a vegetarian. This place is for everyone who enjoys good food. Happy Buddha is definitely the place to go for veggie dim sum---served every day until 3:30 pm. You can't beat the taste or the price. The lunch menu is good too and a great value. The pan fried noodles on the main menu are delicious as is the soothing pumpkin soup. They are very friendly and the only time the service is compromised is on the busy weekends during dim sum hours (11-3:30). The zen style atmosphere is soothing and they even have a juice bar in case you want to feel extra healthy. I also enjoy the music they play, which again is soothing (like the soup and the decor). I have taken about 10 people here and all said they loved it and several have returned even though they reside in Manhattan. Try it!!! Pros: Excellent food!!! Cons: Busy weekends more

the best vegetarian chinese place in queens 5/28/2006

I have been visiting this family run restaurant for over a decade. For a while, right after their 1 year long renovation, they tried a little too hard to be modern. As of 6 months ago, it's now back to it's former glory if not even better. The food is exemplary. Some of the best things are not listed on the menu... vegatarian duck (cold appetizer), bamboo rolls (for dinner, it's listed as lunch only). I also highly recommend their sesame chicken and kung pao chicken. Their lunch specials are so affordably priced I always buy take out for dinner. This place is just plain awesome. I visit at least once a week. Pros: Excellent food, Free parking! Cons: Poor english more

Lyn, Buddah is smiling on you:) 10/29/2005

For a vegan, you can't go wrong. Happy Buddah just as the old place, has a lovely atmosphere, clean and serene to the soul and the eyes. An eclectic Zen Soho quality. The cuisine is very fashionably affordable so you can't go wrong. My husband and I for a year thought Happy Buddah was closed every time we drove by. Now our hearts are happy again to know our old place has grown and has once again become a Vegetarians Paradise. Lynn still works hard and always remembers her loyal customers and maintains her phylosophy of vegetarianism. You see and taste it in the cuisine. Originally from Queens we now live in Manhattan, but we will always come home to Queens to eat at Happy Buddah. My husband and I are happy vegans again:) Namaste..Om Shanti, Buddah is surely happy! more
