Fran made it seem like a chore to check us in; she complained she was very busy etc. When we got to our room it was very dirty. Dust everywhere, cobwebs on the ripped curtains, sinks in the bathroom were missing a sink drainer and the faucets were dirty, carpet was stained and filthy.(No exaggeration!) I tried to hang a shirt in the closet but it was packed with their clothes as were the dressers. What really was interesting was that the ivy growing on the front of the house was growing in though a cracked window which was INSIDE THE CLOSET. We tried to make the best of it, but as soon as we undressed for bed and turned on the TV and air conditioner, the fuse blew. Not only for our room but for the room across the hall. In fact the fuse blew several times that night, each time requiring someone to get dressed, go downstairs and tell Ed/Fran. We only had on the TV and air. As you can imagine the thoughts of weeds in the closet and dirty bathrooms and dust everywhere just plain took the romantic moment right out of our anniversary. We never turned on the jetted tub since we were reluctant to set off another fuse. The web site said evening tea delivered to room and free newspaper. We were offered no tea and received none and no paper. Breakfast was NOT gourmet meal as promised. It consisted of a bowl of fruit and a small serving of scrambled eggs mixed with ham, onion and greenpepper. We had one small glass of OJ and there were no refills or other alternative drinks offered. We had a half of english muffin each, however the donuts were good. We left hungry. Fran gave us a brief history of the house while eating breakfast. I would have rather stayed at a cheap motel and eaten at a fast food restaurant! Their website designer really made the place look and sound great, in reality its NOT what the website makes it out to be. Ed/Fran are nice people but they are simply not in sound enough health to effectively maintain and operate a bed and breakfast
Pros: good donuets, but that was it!
Cons: dirty, bad electrical (blown fuses constantly), did I say dirty??
