NEW TO THE PARK - LOOKING FORWARD TO IT 10/22/2010

Saw the negative review from Santa somebody, have to admit. It was what made my husband and I choose Hanna Park camping with our RV. Had bad experiences with parks that allowed alcohol. Am biting at the bit to stay at Hanna now that I know it is so strict. I'd invite the guy from the bushes into my camp any day. Sorry about your luck Santa - if you didn't see beer in your camp, then you weren't keeping a good eye on your family and others. more

LEAVE THE BEER AT HOME 3/18/2009

Great Park! Nice camping area, electric, water & sewer hook-up at each site. Beautiful trees, lots of shade. Shelter areas available for parties & dining. Clean beaches and paved parking area. A 60 acre lake, biking and hiking trails. Lots of area for a great time but.......LEAVE THE ALCOHOL AT HOME. There is a city ordinance against alcohol in the park and it is ENFORCED! Park security and police do a great job of patrolling this family friendly park. STOP WHINING MrsSanta1...obey the rules and enjoy the park. I did and had a great time. Pros: Great location, beautiful woods, nice beaches Cons: No basketball, tennis courts, no baseball field more

Hanna Park Security does a great Job 2/10/2009

It seem that any one that don't follow the rules, always complains about the whole experience. If you follow all the rules of Hanna park , then you will have a fun time. NO BEER ALLOWED ! HOW HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND !! Hanna park would be better off with out a person that can't follow simple directions...... Pros: Security enforces the rules and regulations of the park. more

BEWARE New camp security 1/27/2009

We camped there 4 times befor, kids dogs, no problems. This past weekend we were stalked by the contracted security of Jax. city. We caught him hiding in the bushes Fri. nite.Sat. nite other campers were sitting around our fire had chillie for all. One lady camper from another site had a beer we didnt notice. He called the police we have to go to court because it was our site an made us pack up an leave, NO JOKE!!! We have clean spotless records an are hoping to get it thrown out, lady offered to go to court with us to tell the judge it was her, we said no. Bottom line it was our camp site. If you have to go to bathhouse take someone with you, he is a STALKER. Bathouse is nasty even with all the camp host ,office dosent answer calls , you have to let it ring 15 min. WE HAVE BEEN CAMPING FOR 30 YRS, NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS. State,Federal an private parks never a single problem.YOU CAN HAVE JACKSONVILLE !! Not making the city better but scary. ier Check out there murder rate. BEWARE AN BECARFUL BUDDY UP, WACKOS ON THE LOSE THERE. Went to office Sat. morning to complain about him , said not there problem. Talk to manager Sun.Didnt get a chance , wacko got us an it wasnt even us. Didnt make the one with the beer leave either. I AM NOT KIDDING !!! Im to old to be treated this way. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE BECARFUL CAMPING IS FOR FUN NOT FEAR!!! Pros: Beach isnt far Cons: Dirty bath houses,No one in office wants to answer phone,Camp security is a stalker, hides in the bushs more

A pleasant surprise & very enjoyable campground! 12/27/2008

We were pleasantly surprised when we drove into Hanna Park; with a nice Ocean Beach along one side, and a very nice Lake (boat rentals, water park for kids, sandy beach) along the other. The sites were very nice, restrooms nice, and they even had some rustic cabins. We had the best time, fishing, going to the beach, and relaxing under the trees. We would reccommend this park to anyone! more

Awful Employees - Never Again 7/13/2008

Reservations took 2 days to get through-constant busy signal. The day we were coming called about 100 times-BUSY SIGNAL entire time. Entrance has ""gentleman's club"" showing a limited dressed female cartoon on their sign-this is at the entrance to the park-so much for ""family values"" in Jax. Checked in at 7 Thurs-at 7:26 I called office to inform them that our site was too small for our camper-wow an answered call-she responded rudely ""nothing I can do you'll have to call in the morning""-click. Reserved site for 30 foot travel trailer-site we got had sewer hook in the middle of the site, too narrow no awning-no room to open door. Gate codes at entry didn't work for 2 nights. Spent hour waiting-husband looked into office and called numbers and ""park manager"" or ""hosts"" who answered were rude and were more concerned with ""how did you get this number?"" When security guard did arrive-he responded with ""all ya gotta do is put in the code for christ's sake""-20 people in line that tried all got the same-no gate opened. Boys are age 9 and 11-booked for the beach and ""water park"" -boys were too tall for water park-limited to 54 inches-but it doesn't mention ANYWHERE in literature or limited info on their awful web site. A day care group was there and 2 of their kids were above the height requirement-My sister came in the day after us-she had a newborn and 2 year old with her-at the gate they told her she had to park and come in to get her ""parking pass""-it seems that one person working 5 feet away from another person at the gate can't give out the ""pass""-you know how hard it is to unload 2 small children? They gave her big time attitude! Went to camp store to rent bikes-guy was on personal call and after five minutes we left. These employees are some of the WORST I ever come into contact with. We will NEVER come back or recommend. Garbage everywhere, bathhouses disgusting, saw numerous people openly drinking bottled beer at campsites/pavillions. Jax should be ashamed! Pros: Beach Cons: Non existent or RUDE Employees more

One of Jax's best beaches! 10/1/2002

Wanting to get away from the development of Neptune - Ponte Vedra beach but don't feel like making the trip to St Aug Beach--go to Hannah Park--the beach is simply beautiful and expansive. There's also a little water park in the main picnic area and plenty of room for everyone. The sand dunes have eroded a lot in the last twenty years, but it's still a beautiful place. Word to the wise: if you're meeting a group at a particular shelter, ask the ranger when you pull up to the gate where to find your shelter. They're not really marked. Pros: inexpensive, lots of parking, not too crowded more
