Hanna Antiques Mall

My experience at Hanna Antiques Mall was unbelievably disgusting! I called the store wanting to get rid of an old kidney-shaped desk that I owned and the person who answered the phone referred me to a dealer in the store named, ""Bunny"". I spoke with Bunny and we made a deal for her to purchase the desk for $75.00. Prior to the deal, I informed Bunny that the desk had nicks and a piece of the veneer missing. Bunny stated she would purchase the desk in its current condition for $75.00. I solicited my cousin, another female, early Saturday morning to ride to my storage unit 35miles away and help me load the desk to deliver it to Hannah Antiques. When I delivered the desk, first of all, one of the front desk employees was disgustingly rude to my cousin when she asked where we should unload the desk... her response was ""why would you need to unload that here?...not, ""who are your looking for, etc."", I told my cousin to tell her we were looking for ""Bunny"". We found Bunny and she looked at the desk and said she couldn't purchase it because of nicks on top. \r \r This was a horrible unfair business practice! Why would Bunny pretend to make a deal to purchase, when she could have looked at the desk in my storage unit? I could not believe that someone in business could be so unscrupulous...She kept saying she was sorry, but she's just FOUL! I will tell everyone I know to never do business or shop at Hanna Antiques! more

I was visiting friends in the Birmingham area, and I decided to go into \r \r \r Hanna Antiques. First of all I am shocked to see that they were voted \r \r \r best antiques store in Birmingham This in fact makes Birmingham \r \r \r look bad because if this is the best antique store then something is \r \r \r BADLY WRONG in Birmingham! The first time I stopped in Hanna \r \r \r \r Antiques I purchased a few items there really was not much to choose \r \r \r from, honestly it seems to be more of an indoor yard sale than an \r \r \r antique store. It seems to me that all the items need to be discarded \r \r \r to the landfill, of course the landfill may be their main source of \r \r \r inventory. The employees are WORSE than the merchandise they are \r \r \r \r OLD,RUDE,AND DECREPIT, for some unknown reason all the rude \r \r \r decrepit skeleton women are so stuck up to the customers! \r \r \r WHY would they in their right mind feel as if they are better than a \r \r \r customer! While I was shopping thru the rubbish the \r \r \r second time, I was followed by one of the decrepit ladies. She was not \r \r \r just following me she was breathing on my neck, and stepping on my \r \r \r heels she was SO close! I am not sure why she was doing this it! This \r \r \r was so FUNNY! I still laugh about this senile women, who obviously \r \r \r was out of her mind. I did not mind AT ALL her following me or \r \r \r anyone else following me for that matter as that is their job when \r \r \r operating a store, but I had just purchased new shoes and she stayed \r \r \r on my heels the entire time SHE RUINED THEM! This of course may \r \r \r have been a cry for attention. I truly do not believe she thought I \r \r \r \r was going to steal from the rubbish pile, as they do have cameras and \r \r \r a person of her age should not be following anyone, as she is at a \r \r \r very high risk of break a hip on a moments notice! Antique lady if you \r \r \r are reading this BE CAUTIOUS YOU COULD VERY EASLY BREAK A \r \r \r HIP WHILE STEPPING ON A CUSTOMER more

Friendly, unpretentious people....everything from jewelry and layette items to furniture and stained glass. Quality inventory, didn't feel at all flea-market like.. Everything in the store is 20% off through the month of July in honor of their 30th anniversary. I picked up a couple of prints for my new home office. I wish I could have afforded the 4 carat rose gold Alexandrite ring! Maybe in another life! Pros: extensive inventory, something for everyone Cons: none really more

love to visit this store, I can spend a day looking and dreaming of the past and things I WANT NOW. We go out in this area and make a day of it. If you haven't been in HANNA'S you really are missing a treat. more

Even penny-pinchers can find bargains here on great antiques. Each booth has a unique personality. Visit the booth featuring shell art (my favorite) and ask up front to be directed to Mary Underhill's booths (one is Attic Concoctions, which has gorgeous linens; another, done by Mary and her daughter has fantastic furniture, linens, etc.).
