excellent customer service and skilled workmen 4/10/2012

Our job was 'different' to say the least. Needed part handyman, weight lifter, contortionist, with a little plumber thrown in. Cannot recommend this company enough. The right man for the job was dispatched (matched up to the task perfectly)and job was finished faster than we had estimated, even with some twists and turns. Thank you Handyman Matters! more

ATTENTION TO DETAIL, FANTASTIC RESULTS! 4/10/2012

I called Handyman Matters, Portland due to their web presence, Angie's List recommendations and other reviews. Kory called me back promptly and came to the house to assess the work we needed - Install bathroom vanity, sink and mirror. Kory listened to what I was looking for, told me my options and also described any possible work order deviations that may occur once they started moving things around. Sure enough there were changes in scope that couldn't be avoided (in order to do things right), but the resulting installation is stunning. The handyman that did the work was polite, told me exactly what what he was doing, discussed changes in plans with me and attempted to clean the work area each day (I'm a bit fussy, more than most). Kory followed up with us almost daily until everything was complete. Overall, I will recommend Handyman Matters, Portland and already have plans to hire them for another project. Like finding a good mechanic, finding a handyman you can trust to do the work right is a huge bonus! Thanks, Kory! more

Kory spent a lot of time with us going over the project. We could ask as many questions as we wanted. He had a lot of good ideas and options and always got our approval before starting it. The work went fast and came in right at the estimate amount. The finished project was perfect. We would highly recommend them. more

critique of sheetrock wall patch 3/22/2012

The representative from Handyman Matters arrived in a timely manner and performed with craftsman like qualities. He patched the moisture damaged sheet rock wall behind our refrigerator and installed insulation under the moisture damaged floor areas with great care and in a professional manner. I found Handyman Matters of West Portland to be very helpful. I gave them some of my ideas and they tactfully said they had better ideas and I agreed with them completely. The craftsmen were very skilled and detailed in giving accounts of the cost. They were very professional and I think very highly of them. more

Handyman Matters of West Portland have done for work for me for a couple of years now. They've done several projects here. One was replacing the curbing in front of house. Another was attaching a drain in front of the garage. And recently they put in a new closet floor for us. I've had very good success with them. more

Did a bunch of different things even though it was just one person! 1/10/2012

The man from Handyman Matters of West Portland showed up on time. He clearly outlined the scope of work so we would be on the same page before we started. He worked outside and inside the house. He had brought clothes for the outside, and was considerate enough to change clothes when he got inside. Handyman Matters of West Portland cleaned my gutters, hung Christmas lights, hung things inside, and fixed a wall. In one call, they got whatever they needed. The guy did a bunch of different things even though it was just one person! more

Great Service 10/24/2011

Kory met with me first to discuss all work I needed done. He was able to address one issue I had during our walkthrough without a charge! After deciding what work needed to be done he prompty sent out a handyman to do the repairs. I am happy with the work that was done. They also went above and beyond to look into an issue that was found during an inspection. I will be hiring him again to do repairs on my rental as well. It is nice to have a trustworthy resource when small household maintenance issues pop up. more

Mike did a first rate job of fixing a leaking roof vent and re-caulking a large bathtub. The job was done on time, within the estimated cost and was top quality. I will definitely use this service again. more

They do what they say, in the amount (or less) than quoted. Great job, too. In our case, the guy doing the work accidentally knocked our mailbox over as he was leaving. He immediately returned. I didn't have to do a thing - within 24 hours we had a new mailbox -- and frankly, better quality and much better installation. When someone goes the extra distance to fix a problem -- you know you can trust them. more

I was referred to Handyman Matters by my brother. They have done quick a bit of handyman work for me at this point. They have fixed the plumbing in a bathroom, replaced lights, and fixed a pocket door. They have also flipped a door for me, and power washed my patio. I thought everything turned out great. I really appreciated the fact that the serviceman arrived on time, every time. He let me know what he was working on, and while he was here, he worked diligently. I never saw him waste any time. And to top it off, he came in under budget. It's been a great experience. more

I have no complaints about Handyman Matters. Last November, I picked their name at random to come and clean my gutters. That went really well. It was speedy, and the serviceman did a good job. While he was cleaning, he noticed some problems with the windows that face the Northwest. When the weather got nice this summer, he came back out for what we thought would be a simple window installation. There ended up being some dry rot that had to be repaired, too, and it turned into a bigger job. They rearranged their schedule to make sure they could finish it up, which I appreciated. They worked out well for me. more

Fast and efficient service. 8/8/2011

I bought the Handyman Matters groupon, which is how I first found out about them. Recently, I redeemed that groupon, and got a great discount on their service. When I called, Kory came right out to look at the job. He was able to give me a good assessment of what needed to be done. He was very helpful, and also gave good suggestions for other things to address. Kory shopped for all the materials up front, which saved me the time and hassle. Then, Greg came out to do the actual work. He repaired some water damaged molding, and put in some transitions between rooms. He showed up on time, worked around my animals and toddler, and was in and out without leaving a mess. It was a great experience, and I will use them again. more
