Good Food 6/3/2010

Hamburger Hamlet is a great lunch spot. The food is really good, the place is very nice and the bar area is rather large. Happy hour is always fun. Not much else to say?good food and you should try it. more

Great food, classy joint 11/3/2009

Good place for lunch, although it can get expensive. There's a HUGE bar, so you can grab a drink for happy hour or during lunch! You can check out the celebrities too (I saw Joan Collins today!) Pros: Good food, Celebrity sightings, bar Cons: Can be pricey more

Casual with very good food. A place with character for sure. Get the 1/2 roast boneless chicken. 6/4/2008

A classy but not pretentious joint with comfy booths etc. Opt for Tap Room. Don't be surprised about who you see here. Pros: Like it ""used to be"". Good food, character and service Cons: Can't think of any. more

Great food 1/8/2008

This place never fails to please us ( myself,my hubby and two kids ) We like to sit in the Tap Room, no reason, we just like this room better. Our kids love the huge chairs if we're not seated at a booth. They have the best Split Pea soup and their burgers are great. We love that they have a kids menu. We can't stand restaurants that don't. The decor in the Tap Room is somewhat dated, and if your looking for a hip fun enviroment you won't find it here, but if you want good food and pretty good prices this is the place. We've always had good servers, one waiter we had recently was a little grouchy, but like my son says...how can someone be mean to you if you pour on the kindness, so that's what we did, and once he opened up he proceeded to tell us that basically the whole day he had really rude customers !! Ya gotta try this place...oh yeah, how can I forget? the desserts are good too. Pros: good food, good desserts Cons: parking is in an underground lot where there are usually valets. more

Great sit-down comfort food 11/24/2007

The Hamburger Hamlet is located near the far end of the Sunset Strip near Beverly Hills but is well worth the trip (walking or driving). This is comfort food done right. The booths are swanky, though a tad uncomfortable. I love the mini-burger sampler and the various desserts. Don't go on a diet. Portions are large. My extended family loves this place, one of the few cheap but seemingly upscale feeling chain restaurants in Weho. Pros: Good for visitors Cons: Hard to find more

Nice Place For Lunch 2/20/2007

I've eaten here a couple of times for lunch during the work week and will keep coming back until I have a reason not to. There's plenty of seating and quick service. I ordered the asian potstickers from the appetizer menu last time and they were so good I had them again today. Pros: Variety of choices, Roomy restaurant more

Just Another Average Experience 8/2/2006

This was my thrid visit to this location for lunch. Each time I've gone the service was exactly the same slow and unattentive. You order your food, they bring it to you and they almost never come back, until the check of course. It didn't even look busy at all? Yet, we found ourselves waiting forever for a refill of our drinks. The waiter was nice, but was missing in action the majority of the time. The food, ah it was just ok. Definetly overpriced for what you get. I ordered the grilled chicken pasta alfredo. I've had better pasta elsewhere at a better price. Seems like for ever to get your check as well. It was just another average experience for this place, which will keep me from going back there again. more

Eat in the Tap Room and don't get sassy with the hostess! 7/7/2006

This is definitely not gourmet food, but is fun nonetheless. The hostess, who will inevitably tell you she used to be married to Miles Davis (you don't have to ask her, she will just tell you. She has rarely failed to tell us after almost 10 years of going there) can be sassy, but if you stay on her good side she will seat you in the tap room, which is more fun than the other rooms. One quibble: for a place with a ""tap room,"" they have a really bad beer selection. If I remember correctly they only have their own beer and a few beers like bud light on tap... kinda lame. And their own beer is not very good and somehow always seems flat! What gives? They do have a large menu full of American staple foods. Good turkey burgers with red peppers in them. Pros: sassy hostess, good turkey burgers Cons: sassy hostess, bad beer slection more

Only Dine in the Tap Room 5/26/2006

Went on a weeknight with a friend and made the mistake of not being seated in the Tap Room...bad idea. The staff outside the Tap Room leave much to be desired. The Tap Room on the other hand is VERY cool, old school red leather chairs, a big wide bar and a fantastic martini. In the Tap Room the staff are prompt, courteous and fun. I've traveled to several Hamlet's across the country and the Sunset location is by far MY favorite more

Fantastic! 3/2/2006

When I moved to the east side for a few months, this was one of the restaurants I kept missing. Seating is swift, all staff are courteous, smart and funny, and the food is great. We are always seated in the Tap Room, which is open, warm, and full of red leather boots and high backed chairs. The clientele is always interesting- in an old hollywood kind of way. Young, old, hip or not, everyone seems fascinating here. You could suggest this place for a business lunch or a date and everyone is going to love it. Pros: good prices, fast , classic food more

Very good food, very questionable service 3/26/2005

Pretty good food, great hamburgers but service could defenitely use a tune up. Non-prompt seating, and a few unhappy almost rude workers. Experience in Sherman Oaks Hamburger Hamlet Pros: good food Cons: service more

Great Steak 6/13/2002

But not the greatest service ever. I've been here a couple of time and even though the food is great and I cant say the samething about the service. It just seems like everytime I go it takes a while for them to seat us but other then that the place is great. The scenery is beautiful especially in the night time when your hanging out with a couple of friends. more
