ON 21 MAR 2014, MYSELF, MY 2 DAUGHTERS AND MY MOTHER DINED AT HAMADA.WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS GOING TO BE A WONDERFUL EVETNING BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN TO HAMADA ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WAS ANYTHING BUT. WE WAITED ABOUT 20 MINS. TO BE SEATED THAT WASN'T A PROBLEM. WE DID NOTICED THAT A YOUNG BLACK COUPLE HAD COME IN AND THE MALE'S PANTS WERE SAGGING AND HIS UNDERWEAR WERE EXPOSED. FINALLY WE WERE CALLED TO BE SEATED. OF COURSE WE ENDED UP SITTING WITH THE YOUNG BLACK COUPLE AND A YOUNG WHITE COUPLE. WELL INTO THE ENTERTAINMENT THE BLACK FEMALE BEGAN CONVERSATING WITH THE GUY SHE WAS WITH AND WE NOTICED SHE WAS USING SOME PROFANITY. WELL WE IGNORED HER. AS THE ENTERTAINMENT CONTINUED THE PROFANITY CONTINUED. WE STILL WERE IGNORING HER. ONCE THE FOOD WAS SERVED THE FEMALE WAS STILL CONVERSATING AND USING PROFANITY. MY DAUGHTER WHO WAS SITTING ON THAT END OF THE TABLE THEN SAID, ""EXCUSE ME"" TO THE FEMALE, ""YOU NEED TO WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE"".IN THE MEANTIME I HAD, HAD ENOUGH AND I GOT UP TO INFORM THE STAFF OF WHAT WAS GOING ON AT THE TABLE. THE STAFF NEVER CAME TO THE TABLE TO SAY ANYTHING, TO MOVE OUR PARTY OR THE COUPLE USING THE PROFANITY. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COOK LEFT THE WAITER BEGAN HANDING OUT THE STYROFOAM CARRYOUT CONTAINERS TO THE ENTIRE TABLE. SOON AFTER THE BILLS CAME. OUR PARTY THEN FEELING RUSHED, PACKED UP OUR CONTAINERS. I THEN WENT BACK TO THE STAFF TO REQUEST TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER. AN ASIAN MAN SPOKE WITH ME SEEMING VERY UNCONCERNED ABOUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES. AS I INFORMED HIM THAT BOTH I AND MY DAUGHTER WERE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND WE DEAL WITH THIS SORT OF ELEMENT ON A DAILY BASIS. AND THAT I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY NO ONE ADDRESSED THE COUPLE OR MOVED THEM, BUT INSTEAD CHOICE TO RUSH EVERYONE OUT. THE GENTLEMAN SAID THAT HE DIDN'T WANT TO START A DISPUTE BY SAYING SOMETHING TO THE COUPLE, SO HE TRIED TO RUSH THEM ALONG. BUT AT THE SAME TIME HE RUSHED EVERYONE ALONG. I NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO EVEN EAT MY FOOD AND SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE HAMADA ATMOSPHERE. I ALSO ASKED HIM IF HE FELT THE NEED TO ADJUST OUR BILLS SINCE WE WERE NOT ENJOYING OURSELVES AT ALL. THE MANAGER'S REPLY WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT. I THEN RETURNED TO THE TABLE WE PAID OUR BILLS AND THEN WE LEFT THE ESTABLISHMENT. WORSE NIGHT I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME. I BELIEVE YOUR MANAGER NEEDS FURTHER TRAINING ON HOW TO ACCOMMODATE GUESTS WHO COME OUT STO HAVE A GOOD TIME AS OPPOSED TO GUEST WHO DON'T CARE THAT THEY ARE DINING WITH OTHER PEOPLE. I FEEL WE SHOULD BE REACCOMMODATED FOR THE EVENING WE WASTED. I AM WELL AWARE THAT YOU CANNOT PICK WHO IS AT THE TABLE WITH YOU. BUT WHEN YOU INFORM THE STAFF OF CONCERNS WITH UNRULY PEOPLE THEN THEY SHOULD'NT IGNORE IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. more

The food is good from a previous experience but when I made reservation for 28 people to celebrate my daughter?s birthday, they messed up the reservation and never apologized. Management behavior was very unprofessional; they accused me of lying, and not making the reservation. I even told management when the reservation was made and they did not care. They never tried to help me with a solution to accommodate my party of 28. Thank GOD my daughter?s birthday was not ruin, we found another restaurant 4 hour prior to guess arriving, and they accommodated our needs. Poor customer is the down fall and key to unsuccessful businesses. It?s great to have excellent food but efficient/effective customer service skills are pertinent. I deserve good customer service with good food and Hamada does not exhibit both. Due to poor management and their unprofessionalism, I will never dine there again. more

Wonderfully delicious, in an outgoing atmosphere. Fun for a date, or night out with friends! \r Seems a bit pricey when first glancing at the menu but the price include appetizer, main course and desert! \r Food is wonderful and the service (cooked right in front of you) is a blast to watch! more

I was so excited when my friend indicated that we were going to this restuarant for lunch. Boy was I surprised. I could not enjoy the food because of the terrible service and attitude of the chef preparing our food. I have dined out many times, but this is first time I've had anyone cook my food and throw it on my plate. During the course of the food being prepared, the chef was just awful. Upon leaving I reported this to the manager who indicated to me that this chef has always received compliments. I felt as though my feelings did not matter. I will never return to this restuarant nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. Pros: Plenty of parking space and beautiful decor Cons: Terrible Service more

this restaurant is a good place to get together with friends, family, and just about anyone.. the way the chef prepares the meals is spectacular and the service is wonderful... i love their surprises.... You never seem to know when they are going to pop up.. i hope that many people dine in at Hamada of Japan and if one doesnt HE OR SHE IS MISSING OUT BIG TIME... i love it there and i love to be entertained by the Chefs...! I like this restuarant. The atmosphere is very lively and the food is delicious. When I have dined here, I have alway had the opportunity to have a good griller who makes it fun to watch him prepare the food. It is a nice place for a special occasion and the children will like it as well. more

I previously had gone to this restaurant and love the environment. Its very family friendly and the kids love it as well! The cooks/chef is very entertaining and makes the meal that much more enjoyable. more

Great place to celebrate a birthday, mother's day or just a girl's day out! The staff and waiters are very helpful to first timers. The menu is pretty straight forward with something to please everyone. \r \r Everything takes place right in front of your eyes. From food prep to the actually serving of your meal. And there are always a few suprises. Its always fun and even the kids will enjoy it.\r \r The prices are fair and it includes, appetizers, main courses and desserts. more

A word of warning for any business professionals trying to do a business luncheon or dinner here - don't. I had to go find a waitress three times to get service and the managment was awful. I was aghast at how unhelpful management was and just down and out RUDE. The food is okay. The chef did a great job preparing the dishes and once we did have a waitress, she did an okay job. Would not recommend this place. Even when I called to place my reservation, the host was very unfriendly and unaccomodating. Cons: service was awful more
