I have been going to Dr. White for well over 20 years. I will NEVER bring my pets to another Vet unless John retires. Dr. White not only loves and cares deeply for all his patients, but for their owners as well. Just like my kids, my pets are my life. I trust John's judgement COMPLETELY when it comes to their care. I've never questioned what he does, recommends, etc nor will I. His staff is just as caring and considerate as he is. Extremely friendly and outgoing as well. Needed to have my dog seen while working over here in New York. I called Halfmoon and they got me right in the next day. \r The staff was friendly and helpful, \r Dr. White and his vet tech were excellent handling my dog.\r I do a lot of research on my pets health before I go in and I very much like a Vet that will talk ""with me"" and not ""to me"" Dr White fits the bill. \r \r I highly recommend this vet practice.\r \r MeHere99's basis for a 1 rating of this practice was BOGUS. I have been a client at Halfmoon Veterinary Hospital for over 15years. Doc White and his staff are always compassionate, helpful and make you feel like part of their family. They are very accomodating to your schedule and the needs of your animals.\r \r This year we went for our yearly visit and both of my dogs tested positive for lime disease (in fact so did my parents and brothers dogs), they took the time to explain to me what the care entails and what to look for moving forward. ***If you haven't had your pet tested... make an appointment today*** a quick blood test and some pills will help to keep your pet healthy for a long time. \r If you are looking for a vet don't look any further... they are who you want to give your pet the best care possible. \r Their rates are very reasonable and if you have more than one pet and bring them in together there is only one visit fee. I recently had to put my German Shepard to sleep. The staff at Halfmoon Veterinary Hospital were extremely professional and caring. My dog was part of my life for 13 years, it was very stressful to end her life. Doctor White took time to explain everything to me and what was going to happen. Dr. John White has taken care of my cats for more years than I think he or I could remember, and for 12 + years since he opened his current practice at Northway Exit 8A. Dr. John understood my bond with my 17 year old cat Jasper; he loved that old cat's courage as much as I did and did everything he could to keep him alive and comfortable as long as it was humane to do so. But when it was time to let Jasper go, Dr. John pulled no punches - he was straight with me. He has been the same with all of my cats since. I love the way he embraces them; he truly loves the little ones he cares for. And I love the compassion he extends to their owners; he is not afraid to hug or weep. He gives love to his patients and validates their owners' feelings. There should be more vets like Dr. John in this world. Dr White has been my vet. He cares about my dog Sasha who has had a lot of health issues throughout her life.\r I moved to FL 3 years ago. Sasha is now 13 and has begun to slip down that road of ""every day is a blessing"".\r Dr White has answered my calls from FL and assisted me with her care.\r I am trying to move back to NY where Sasha and I belong. I hope Sasha hangs in there long enough to spend her final moments with Dr White, to ease a very difficult time for me.
