Affordable and intimate 4/6/2006

The productions at the Hale Center Theater are outstanding. When my husband was looking to take me to a play, we checked out the prices at some of the more renowned Salt Lake City theaters and were blown away by the cost of the tickets. The Hale Center Theater offers professional (at least they seem that way to me) productions without draining your wallet. Be sure to reserve tickets early as some of the more popular shows sell out. Also, there really are no bad seats in the house. This playhouse is a cozy, intimate size and boast a round stage, which really helps draw you into the action of the play. My parents even bought season tickets and let us all chose a play to attend as part of a Christmas present to the family. more

Who needs Broadway 12/9/2005

If you haven't experienced one of Hale's productions yet, you're missing out. This family friendly theater is something completely different. The layout in the auditorium is circular seating, meaning the stage is in the center of the audience. This allows for a very unique and clever presentation of the play and the actors themselves. What I enjoy about this type of setup is that I feel so much closer to the stage and it's as though the audience has become part of the play. The seating is a little tight, so if you have long legs you'll want to get up and stretch at intermission. more

Great Playhouse! 12/3/2005

The Provo-Orem area has a number of playhouses and the Hale Center Theater is by far the best of them. Their theater in the round makes for very intimate and powerful productions and the acting quality is so good you will forget the crappy seats you are sitting on! The building is getting pretty run down but they are moving to a new one soon. Building aside, however, they do a great job and this is a fun way to spend an evening! more

Great entertainment in a small package 9/4/2005

Don't be fooled by the size of the building or the stage, the Hale Center Theater in Orem has some excellent shows that will make you forget the aging seats and technology. The clever use of entrances and scenery will make the stage feel much better and the plays and musicals come to life. They do a really job gettin the most out of their actors and unlike many theater in the round setups, you won't be left feeling akward when they get too close. Very well done. more

Excellent Local Theater and Music 8/17/2005

The Hale Center Theater in Orem is a small, rustic, and rather run down place, but its nightly performances are far from that! Featuring ~10 shows each season the Hale Center is a masterpeice of local skill and talent. The annual encore tradition of Charles Dicken's: A Christmas Carol is not to be missed! This spirit setting performance should become the Christmas tradition of every family. more
