I was really pleased with these guys. I took them an expensive pair of men's laceup dress shoes in that had developed a hole in their thin leather sole in less than 6 months of light wear.
Hakky replaced the soles for $50, which I thought was reasonable. The work was very well done and the replacement soles (leather ones) were of good quality, and the shoes look like a million bucks. I think the wait time was 3 or 4 days.
On top of that, the guy put a beautiful shine on them. He must have used the best leather conditioner ever, because they came out far more supple and shiny than when I dropped them off.
I feel for the other reviewers' poor experiences, but I don't drop alterations off at a shoe repair place. Use your tailor next time. Bottom line, I went in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised.
