Hakky Instant Shoe Repair

I'm sad to report that Hakky has closed. Another tenant at the Woodlands Mall said the owner decided not to renew lease and retired. Anyone know where the alterations lady went? more

I was really pleased with these guys. I took them an expensive pair of men's laceup dress shoes in that had developed a hole in their thin leather sole in less than 6 months of light wear. Hakky replaced the soles for $50, which I thought was reasonable. The work was very well done and the replacement soles (leather ones) were of good quality, and the shoes look like a million bucks. I think the wait time was 3 or 4 days. On top of that, the guy put a beautiful shine on them. He must have used the best leather conditioner ever, because they came out far more supple and shiny than when I dropped them off. I feel for the other reviewers' poor experiences, but I don't drop alterations off at a shoe repair place. Use your tailor next time. Bottom line, I went in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. more

I took my expensive jeans here to get hemmed and the lady told me to take my shoes off for it! I thought that was weird, but did it anyways and when she marked them, she marked them where they touched the bottom of my heel. I told her that I wanted them to be a little longer, so when I wore shoes, they would touch the ground. She assured me that she would be sure to make them an inch and a half too long. Well, she didn't. They are too short and don't even touch the ground when I am barefoot. Now my $216 jeans are ruined. I took them back to her and she told me that it wasn't her fault, they have two ladies who work there and she must have done them and didn't know to make them longer. Ridiculous! I am so furious now and will NEVER go back. Do not take your pants to get hemmed here! more
