Hair Reflections

I saw a segment on ABC 3340 and was so impressed by what I saw, I decided to make an appointment. First off, let me say that I'm a mom. Not only am I a mom, I'm a mom on the go! Carpool ... Baseball practice ... Cheernastics ... the whole nine. My biggest concern was making sure I could get in and out in time to pick up my little ones. My hair has been the same length since my wedding in 02 and I felt like it was time for a change. When I called, I appreciated that the front desk staff was friendly and professional. I explained my issues with time and was grateful that they listened and acted accordingly to place me with the right person at the right time. Yesterday, when I arrived I was given a tour of the salon and offered the most amzing water I've ever tasted. I know it may sound strange, but it was infused with fresh cucumber, lemons and limes and it was delicious! I also liked that they offered me a change of clothes (tee shirt and smock) since i was having my hair colored. A great touch. After speaking with Rose for a few minutes, we decided to move forward with a Pixie hair cut with a bit of an edge. Think Mia Farrow or Michelle Williams. Very chic ... very cute ... very easy to maintain!! On top of everything, I loved that Rose and her team seemed passionate about what they do. You can feel that everyone is genuinely interested in making sure you're pleased with the final product, which of course is your hair. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and if that wasn't enough ... I even received a complimentary and much needed brow wax. I will most definitely be returning and in fact made an appointment for my mother. Over all very pleased with them. more

The worker had chemical burns, and the over-priced products I was talked into buying have warning labels about possible chemical reactions. I cannot use the products without feeling like my hair is dirty and I am poisoning myself. The whole experience cost me a whopping $400. The stylist/colorist/manager was so busy bossing everyone around, that it was definitely awkward. Wish I had read the reviews, and have since found a nice place that uses a more natural product line. I'm sorry if this review is a bit scattered, but I'm still trying to process the experience. Just steer clear; sure wish I had. more

WOW, this place should be in L.A. with us. my publicist heard of Rose Fraser through the fashion industry, my stylist could not travel with me so we made a phone call and a pit stop in birmingham or bham as the locals say and after hours Rose and I think her bf catered to every need i had. There was also a long time client that she was working on sitting next to me. She told me this is how it always is, Rose and her staff will cater to you no matter who you are. Have been there a couple of times - overall wouldn't recommend it. As a new customer I got treated awesome (got a head massage, something to drink ...). Afterwards it depends all on the daily situation. Paying $40 for a standard 20 min men's haircut is way too expensive - but at least it looks great if Terry cuts your hair. the downside you might have to wait an hour even with an appointment! A different stylist cut almost everything with the machine (even my skin) and shortened some parts with a knife style tool: I was not sure if she cut the hair or was ripping it out - the knife tool pulled on the hair all the time ! It took 1 hour to get the haircut done, I had to tell her everything where it was uneven - I should have stopped her right at the beginning - which stylist starts with the fine-tuning at the beginning anyway? One hour and $30 later I was happy to leave and my wife was laughing about my haircut...waiting for my hair to grow again and I will try a different place ! more

Hair Reflections is a unique salon that strives to give customers the attention, quality, and experience from all staff. Terry has cut and colored my hair for years. Hair Reflections is absolutely incredible! I understand to each his own, but I cannot imagine what anyone would have to complain about. The staff is always helpful and polite. Before my appointment, the lady answering the phone spent time with me explaining the salon and helping me figure out which stylist would be the best fit for me. She answered all my questions and never had a bad attitude. When I came in for my appointment it was absolutely wonderful! I was given a tour of the salon, so I would feel more comfortable and everyone was friendly and fun! Whoever referred to the staff ""minions running around"" is just rude. Those people are caring and made sure I was comfortable and constantly attentive to my needs. Rose the owner is hoot! She took the time to listen to what I wanted done, gave me excellent suggestions and my hair is perfect! This place is like a chic salon out of New York. Whoever said ""you pay for what you get"" is exactly right. You may pay a little more at Hair Reflections, but I'd rather pay and get awesome hair and fabulous service than go somewhere else. These negative reviews are insane. This is the best and the only place I will ever go. Destiny has always done a perfect job for me. Even the owner, Rose, always makes time to give me a hug and let me know she appreciates my business. The shampoo feels so nice it just about puts me to sleep. And to top it all off, I get a nice neck rub to really relax me. Who is the idiot that said they didn't want a neck rub? Are you serious? Some people would complain about winning the lottery I guess. The price is not cheap, but haven't you people figured out yet that you get what you pay for? Go pay 10 bucks for a hair cut and see what you get. You'll be wearing a hat for a few weeks. Seriously, this is the best salon I have ever been to. My hair cuts are consistantly perfect. I know I can count on a cut exactly the way I want it. Pros: Consistant Quality more

If you want the best colorist in Alabama, you need to go to Hair Reflections, and if you want a hair cut that looks good even when your stylist doesn't style it... let Terry cut your hair! This is the total package! I won't let anyone else touch my hair since I started going there almost 2 years ago... Pros: Terry is the best! more

I love this place! The sytlist are very experienced and courteous. Always asking how I am and what I would like to have done. Always has a suggestion on how to make my hair look great. And I never leave there without a great haircut and color. I have people asking who does my hair all the time and I tell them Terry @ Hair Reflections. No other salon could compare to the quality of work they do! more

So, I should have read the reviews, but I didn't and tried Hair Reflections last week for a haircut. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!! I was charged $40.00 for a hairdry after they cut my hair. I was unaware of this charge and being a new customer, thought it would have been nice if they would have advised me that they charge for a blow dry. I have lived across the United States, big cities and small towns, and have NEVER been charged to have my hair dryed after a service. What kind of class does this salon have to send their patrons out with wet, undone hair???? CLASSLESS!!!!! Pros: Nothing more

It seems like you have to have a degree in RUDE to be employed here. The receptionists are snobs, the sylists-arrogant, and the little ""minions"" they have walking around are pushy . Cons: Rude staff, poor service,uptight atmosphere more

I went to the salon with several of my friends to get ready for a wedding. The salon experience started off bad when we went to make an appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude about ""group"" appointments and assisted that we call pay deposits. I have never heard of paying a deposit to get your hair done. The stylist I had was mediocre at best, and she did most of our hair. One stylist in particular was VERY rude (Terry). I would never go back to this salon.
