Uh Oh 2/7/2014

I am a recent graduate of Hair Dynamics and my experience there was a rather mixed one. I looked at both of the other schools in the area and neither could compete with the education at Hair Dynamics. I will start by saying that i definitely got what i paid for in terms of education. They are very up to date and good about teaching the newest trends in cutting, styling, perming, coloring, nail design, and skin care, while they continue to teach the oldie-but-goodies such as shampoo sets, facials, traditional perming etc... If you go through the skin and nail programs you also get certified in Microdermabrasion, Chemical Exfoliation, and Electric Filing. The educators are very passionate and talented for the most part, and are mostly willing to help. All of the equipment is nice and the student salon is very comfortable for being at a school. They have actual pedicure chairs which no other school in the area has and they have great products at fairly good prices but that's pretty muc more

WOW...the previous review is VERY hard for me to understand...I can only assume that this "student" was very biased and most likely was venting alot of misplaced anger...what I mean is this...I am the parent of a soon to be graduate, and my daughter has been nothing but thrilled with the school as a whole, from the instructors and staff, to the classes and of course the clients and friends she has made at Hair Dynamics. As a parent, I feel that we made the BEST choice when we chose this school. We toured two others before deciding and we are so glad we went with Hair Dynamics. The classes are up to date, the school is very clean and attractive...I am very confident that she will have absolutely no problem passing the exam to obtain her license, as they make SURE the students are prepared to do so before they graduate...she has nothing but great things to say about her teachers and the rest of the staff and while she is very excited to graduate, I am sure she will be just a little sa more

DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! 9/28/2011

this school is a joke. i have a hard time believing some of these reviews and would not be surprised if the staff wrote them themselves. they raped me of my money and dignity, not to mention wasting 2 years of my life. i am a current student, still waiting to graduate. i was supposed to graduate in may. first of all, you don't learn sh-t, and you spend more time doing busy work like smart notes than actually practicing anything. they have arbitrary clock in times, and if you are even one minute late, they will lock you out of the classroom and you won't get your education for the day. they spend more time paying attention to what students are wearing and whether or not it fits into their outdated and restrictive dress code than they do to how well you're doing in classes. they made me retake several classes, for absolutely no reason. they can't track anything accurately and i spent most of my time in the office trying to get them to fix things they did wrong, or get credit for more

LOVED ATTENDING 9/16/2011

I learned so much more here than I could have at any other school in this area and the teachers and staff are awesome. I was treated very well and they always helped me with anything I needed. I loved attending this school. I got so much out of it and enjoyed being here. more

This School is Amazing! 8/26/2011

I am a current student at Hair Dynamics and I couldn't ask for a better education. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and go above and beyond to help you. Classes are educational and entertaining! The experience of actually being in the salon and getting your own clients, is pretty awesome. You meet so many different kinds of people, and learn how to connect with different personalities. We are tought to be respectful and professional. I started school at HD almost a year ago, and so far it has been one of the best experiences of my life. My time at HD makes me SUPER excited to make cosmoteology a career for myself. I'm even more passionate about it now than I was when i started school. Hair Dynamics is a school for someone that is REALLY passionate about hair, skin, and nails and someone who really wants to make a life by doing something in cosmetology.They give you the tools AND the confidence to succeed after you graduate. This school is amazing! more

My unbiased review that will most likely get flagged... 7/28/2011

I've written two reviews which have both been flagged or erased, but I feel so strongly about my experience that I'm writing ANOTHER one out of stubborn righteousness if nothing else. \r \r 1. I finished the skin program and am still without a job in the field \r two years later. There was basically no help from the school in relation to finding jobs except for an outdated 'job board' and a watered down job fair that mostly catered to hair students. \r \r 2. The teachers taught straight from the book. They didn't seem to have much practical experience (in skin at least, and with all due respect the hair program seems much more refined and quality...) When we 'graduated' to basics and were 'on the floor' we were left completely alone. No more training, no teachers to guide us, nothing. The education was antiquated--I could honestly learn as much on YouTube, or the internet by teaching myself. \r \r 3. I had to beg friends and family to come pay for services to fulfill my hours, and only more

This school is an absolute joke. They rarely have anything straight, and are highly unorganized. They will tell you one thing and do the complete opposite. If you want an education that will help in your career choice then good luck. The student to teacher ratio is horrible. If you have a question it will take you forever to get an answer, and it will come with attitude because you just disturbed someone during their gossip time. If you want your business broadcasted, are not oriental, like being in complete chaos, and being thrown into a sea of people without having a clue as to whats going on this is the school for you. The owners supposedly make all the decisions but will never talk to you one on one, they have their minions do it for them, yet all they do is complain about how they are clueless. If you are going to drop that kind of money for an education, then I highly suggest you do it elsewhere. Looks are very decieving at this school!! more

Check them out... 4/17/2011

I have gone to Hair Dynamics, along with other area schools to check them out....I had already gotten advice from a friend of mine to check Hair Dynamics out ( she is a student there) because she had already attended another area school, and then transferred to Hair Dynamics....well, to make a long story short, she ended up having to basically start all over again, because she had pretty much learned absolutly NOTHING, and was pretty much lost once she got to Hair Dynamics....anyways, they totally worked w her to get her up to speed and now she is doing great...so, with that info, I went around looking at area schools and I can say that I see why she transferred...I am excited to start this fall, the school is very nice, and from what I have already heard and then from what I saw when I took my tour of the school, I think I have made the right choice....you get alot of "extras" you would not get in other schools, and they were very helpful in getting my financial aide filled out and re more

PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING 2/23/2011

This is the worst education experience I have ever had. I attended UNC, CU Denver, and am applying for grad school in NY. With all of my education and experience I know what you should expect from a school, I know that the guidelines you recieve when you enter are the guidelines you should be able to rely on until graduation. With Hair Dynamics, this is NOT the case. 3 months prior to graduation they started making up excuses for me to not proceed on time, I was within .3% of a requirement and had a month to improve it, and they insisted I could never achieve my requirement on time. Academic advisors are supposed to guide you and motivate you, but instead my academic advisor was a STUDENT by night. You would think that would break STUDENT CONFIDENTIALLITY agreements or perhaps become a CONFLICT OF INTEREST. This place is nothing more than a money hungry establishment run by adults with 5th grade educations. How they managed to obtain wonderful instructors is beyond me. more

My Bruising at Hair Dynamics 11/1/2010

I was just looking at the fingermark bruises on the back of my calf when I decided to write a little review of my Hair Dynamics "Experience". My friend Teresa and I went in for pedicures and came away with much more!\r Aside from walking away $30 poorer we were both grabbed roughly, demeaned, and generally taken advantage of. The little gril doing my pedicure apparently thinks herself "untouchable" as she kept telling us she was dating the Boulder County Sheriff's son \r Our nail polish began chipping the next day because no top coat was applied. The finger prints on the back of my calf will far outlast any polish on my fingers.\r When the instrucor came around she didn't even look at my nail "work". The teacher was too busy looking at the disgusted look on her studen's face that she thought I couldn't see.\r If you want to be demeaned and treated like you are less than human Hair Dynamics is the plkace for you!\r It seems that the people at Hair Dynamics can dish it out. They'll make your dreams come true? More like living in a nightmare. 9/14/2010

To say I'm dissapointed, and let down with hair dynmics would be a understatement. The staff is unbeilevable at the school, the instructors become your friends and truly care about you, they teach you what they have learned from the real world. As for the owners, that's another story. They make you feel as if letting you into hair dynamics is somekind secret club only the elite get into. Honestly, if you have the money ot doesn't matter who you are. Your in. The owners are very monet hungry, and you can see it by how they speak, and treat you. There are changes made constantly, so nothing is ever stable. From my personal experience last year at hair dynamics it has sucked the motivation out of me to do hair. The school was once something I looked forward to, but after I graduated I couldn't get out fast enough. With the constant changes in the rules, there is always some kind of roadblock for you to get through, one more hoop to jump through. If it wasn't for the personable instructors more

Ok school - pricey 3/15/2010

I am currently a student here. I am paying a lot in tuition - more than most schools and feel that i'm getting an ok education. The instructor to student ratio in the salon is terrible. At nights, there is only one instructor for ALL of the students and there is a lot of us. The backoffice is terrible - they messed up my student loan 3 times, they have screwed up my hours and credits too. The instructors that are there seem to be great though, just wish there were more of them. Considering it's a beauty school though I try not to expect too much despite the high tuition they are making. more

Hair Dynamics: Awesome 12/16/2009

I go to Hair Dynamics currently. After touring other local schools and speaking with other students, I realized the Hair Dynamics is a fantastic organization. I have learned so much through the Pivot Point curriculum, Milady Curriculum, and the amazing teachers with years of experience. Dale Matuska (not Matsunaka) and Tina Matuska, though yes they are making quite a lot from tuition, truly stand by their educators, and their student's best interests. Their whole life is about Cosmetology. I absolutely love my school and am so glad that I chose it over the other two local schools. We have in school competitions for updos, haircuts, makeup, and last month the advanced styling class held a fantasy competition with a Marvel Comics theme! Students and teachers both attend seminars and trade shows, and Dale and Tina bring in guest speakers to teach classes once or twice a month. This school is just awesome! I am going to graduate in early March and I feel very confident for state boards! Ha more

Hair Dynamics Education Center may be the most practical and valuable beauty school in this tri-state area. I recently met with the owner, Dale Matsunaka, and discussed at length the pro's and con's of his self built beauty academy. What I admired most is his passion to provide the very best instruction possible for students to which he has a sincere allegiance. Great Place 3/17/2009

I was a student at another beauty school for three months and was not happy with my education. I transferred to Hair Dynamics last fall and learned more in my first week that all the months I attended the other school. It is amazing the difference between schools. Hair Dynamics has been newly remodeled and is beautiful. The atmosphere is professional. It feels like a salon more than a school. The instructors are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to help you learn. My experience so far has been very good. The owners are in the school all the time helping us and working with the staff. I think it is a great place. more

Hair Dynamics 4/14/2005

Hair Dynamics is a local beauty school where they teach hair cutting, hair coloring, manicures, pedicures, waxing, and facials. You can walk in or make an appointment to have any of those services done at a very low price by the students. My family has been going there for a long time and have never had any real problems. Hair cuts are $7.50, color is around $20-25. It's a great alternative to high priced salons if you have a little adventure in you! The inside decor is outdated and desperately needs a remodel. The people are nice and the students are good. more
