Hair Couture Designs has wig makers on staff that work in the major motion picture industry. They assign you a personal wig maker to work with. They can make a wig with your own hair. When I went to Hair Couture I was expecting the same stiff wiggy looking wigs but found some much more extremely natural, high quality and natural looking. Their human hair wigs are not all pre styled and cut like the other wig shops around. The wigs are made with American and Russian human hair that has never been processed. I saw the difference immediately in the hair. The very first one that Kelli tried on me I fell in love with. She of course had me try on several others to make sure I made the right decision. I went home with the wig and came back two days later before I had it cut just so I was sure I was making the right investment. NO ONE could believe it was a wig even though it was not even cut or styled! I had them cut and add highlights to my beautiful wig and now it looks even more beautiful! I cried when it was completed. Yes their wigs do cost more but worth every single dollar I put into it. I have NEVER been this happy in years!!!!!!!!! The salon in down to earth. They do NOT book you with other customers and the staff is sweet and caring. They did not once try to push a sale on me rather they tried to deter me from making such a quick decision so "I was sure" Thank you again. The best Alopecia wigs and Alopecia wigs that look extremely natural looking and very high quality! I was a little unsure about getting another custom made expensive human hair wig. I was at first a little intimidated working with an actual wig maker and worried that the expense was going to be out of my budget. When I arrived the staff was down to earth and did not once do any high pressure sales maneuver. They showed me the pre made Caucasian hair lace front wigs and I immediately saw and felt the difference. When I tried them on it was a night and day difference from anything else I have worn. Yes I paid more for this wig but it just made sense. I have been wearing European human hair wigs from Follea for the past 4 years. I paid around $4,000 a piece for them and the hair has lasted at least a year. I really wanted a wig that would last years and was the same baby fine blond hair (like my own). Well I found one. Baby fine never been color treated American hair. I really did not think this type of wig existed until now. The lace front looks completely natural. The hair speaks for itself and the workmanship on the wig is noticeable. The compassion and integrity of the staff is undeniable. It was worth the 4 hour drive. I just waited 6 weeks for Hair Couture Designs to make my wig for me out of my own hair. I live in Washington DC and my parents live in Brentwood in Los Angeles County. Jennifer made my wig for me (she is located in Los Angeles) I was able to visit my wig 4 weeks into the job and I was able to give her some extra hair that was donated to me to use in the front of my wig. I got to show her where I wanted it placed and she was very professional and polite and of course made a little time for my visit. I have heard that there are other places that say they make all their wigs in the US but I am also hearing contradictions from other patients in my support group that say different. If you can, go and ask to see the wig while it is being made so you know it is being made here in the USA. I surly did. I have been wearing my wig for 2 weeks now. I had to have a few hairs added by my temple area and they scheduled that in and had it done in a week. I used approximately 4.4 ounces of my own natural light brown hair and then gave an extra 2 ounces of extra blond donated hair (from my sister) for the frontal area. The did not waste my hair. My wig is about 2.5" shorter than the ponytail I gave them and I did understand that some of my shorter hair could not have been used. I love the way the wig turned out. It does look just like my own hair but a little shorter. The blond hair that I added in the front looks even better. I would also like to add that having your own hair back on your head plus a family members donation means more than anything in the world. I feel really at peace. I live in Camarillo, CA and was visiting wig shops and found this upscale wig salon by mistake. After searching through the google web pages I stumbled upon one add and decided to call. Boy do they know what they are talking about. After my wig lesson 101 I made an appointment. The wig shop is a full service hair salon with actual wig makers on staff. Decorated tastefully with the most natural looking beautiful wigs I have ever seen. I only thought these existed in Beverly Hills, but Camarillo???? What are you guys doing here??? Very sweet, professional and down to earth, they are definitely here for the right reasons. No sales pitches and they make you take your time when making a decision. They had even told me to "think about it" before I buy. I was shocked? I thought that was my line! lol. I did think about it and happily came back the next day and joyfully purchased the wig that I originally wanted. I knew I was making the right decision. After the cut it was just perfect! The hair is virgin natural blond and they are adding some highlights tomorrow to the front. You have to see them to believe me! more
