My hair's been in transitional mode for a loooong time. I have something known as the Hillje jaw, which is kind of square, my ancestors' fault, and as a result have been aware that I'll look better with below-shoulder length hair. Growing out hair as big and damaged as mine is a major challenge in layering, and Dawn's techniques created the best shape I've had in years. I think a lot of the split ends (everyone with curly hair knows it's naturally dry) in front are gone because she snips a lot of hairs from the crown, but I didn't lose that much length anywhere. Dawn was amazing! She went out of her way to meet me at 6:30 and even stayed till 9:00pm to make sure that I loved my hair and to even show me some get style tips. She was wonderful, and she knew exactly what I needed for my new look. Dawn let me know how to better take care of my hair, and she really understood what I needed. I found Dawn on this website for help with my over-processed, fine, curly, dry, flyaway hair and a series of just plain unflattering haircuts. Dawn focused on trying to understand my hair, my needs and preferences. She took time to listen to me and ""study"" my hair - I felt like she completely focused on me. Dawn gave my hair 2 treatments to get it back to health, but nothing ""cookie-cutter"" or prepackaged - she was so creative about understanding my needs and actually creating treatments that would make my hair look and feel better. After the treatments Dawn gave me a beautiful, very flattering cut with a real edge to it - and made me look about 10 years younger(I'm 63!). In the days since this cut I have had nothing but compliments, smiles and even surprise (like - ""Your hair looks so great!! What did you do?""). Dawn did a great job cutting my curly hair. I have never had a haircut that I truly loved, but now I do! She spent a lot of time with me and went over the do's and don'ts of curly hair. She also took the time to explain everything that she was doing (especially the things that are unique to cutting a curly girls hair). I highly recommend Dawn Periquito for your hair stylist. I have been going to Dawn for about 2 years now and I have always left the salon extremely happy. Dawn knows exactly what I want when I come in for a haircut, color, and highlight or lowlight. She listens to what I want and will make suggestions on what is best for me without any pressure what so ever. I truly value her opinion because she is so dedicated in her profession and does a wonderful job. She also cuts and styles my teenage daughter's hair and my daughter is always estatic at the way her hair turns out. I have been going to Dawn for awhile now and could not be happier. I have been through many hairstylists and have never received such a level of perfection until now! I have been going to Dawn for almost a year now. I was new to RI and tried a lot of different salons and they never did what I wanted. I started seeing Dawn at Envy because of the citysearch rave reviews she got for cutting curly hair. She listened to what I wanted and it turned out wonderful. She also offered to fix anything that I didn't like if I went home and couldn't style it the way I wanted to (which I had no problem because she did a great job). Hello, I just returned from my hair appt. with Dawn, at Ani's, wow!!!! Not only did she give me the posh spice hair cut that I love!!!! but she did a three color foil that is right from Glamour magazine! very talented, Give her a call, any style, any age you will love her. I had gone to one of (Quote) The Best in RI for for my past color and cut and was happy only the first time. If you were unhappy and tried to speak with them about it, they just would not hear about it; this will not happen with Dawn.
