Satisfied Customer 11/12/2010

After numerous less then stellar service visits to SBAG I decided to give one of the independent repair shops a visit. After reading numerous reviews I called Haik's Autohaus to schedule an oil change. The work was done professionally and the mechanic did a detailed inspection and had a list of recommended service items including a deteriorated rubber boot between the air mass meter and the throttle body that I had replaced the next day, and a list of other items that I could defer to a later date. Total bill was 1/3 of what I would have paid for a similar visit to SBAG. I guess you could rate that "World Class." more

Haik's Autohaus - Excellent service! 9/23/2010

I recently brought my 2002 Audi A6 Quattro into Haik's German Autohaus with a knock in my engine. Needless to say, I was more than a little worried! Haik & Kurt were AMAZING! They are more than masters of their trade, they are true gentleman! They communicated with me every step of the way and repaired only what was necessary (cam shaft, lifters) and what I could afford. Not only that, they made other minor repairs to my vehicle at no cost! They truly pay attention to every detail of your vehicle, they are honest, friendly, and I highly recommend Haik's German Autohaus! Prosit! more

Try Other Places First 6/29/2010

Definitely try other shops first. Sometimes it may be cost effective to try this shop, but I recentally had a experience that cost me multiple times an alternative shop. I would expect more experience from a shop that is in business as long as this one. I was without my car for over 2 weekends and 6 business days before I had to bring the care elsewhere since they couldn't resolve the issue. more

Automotive Counseling 5/5/2010

I had a problem with both breather hoses in my Audi. Dealership wanted over $500 to fix the problem which was a very quick fix. I called Haik's to get another estimate and we also talked about other options. With his guidance and knowledge I was able to fix my own car for around six dollars. And not to mention, replacing the hoses with what I have used is a definite upgrade from the cheap OEM parts. I'll certainly see Haik's from now on. more

Wouldn't trust anyone else with my "adorable" lil' Beetle! 5/5/2010

My boyfriend and I purchased a used VW New Beetle, because I thought it was "adorable" and had always wanted one. We thought we were getting a good deal and buying through a reputable dealer, sadly, we were mistaken. :(\r We brought the "adorable" little Beetle into Haik's German Autohaus to assess all of the issues. Haik and Kurt could not have been more helpful, and honest with us. They told us what we needed to fix immediately and what we could wait on. They always try their best to keep costs down as much as possible but are not willing to cut any corners, which is so appreciated.\r They are super friendly, and have a way of making you feel like although yeah, you've got car issues, you are not in it alone, and for a midwestern girl like myself, this is very important!\r I would highly recommend Haik's German Autohaus, and will never take my Beetle anywhere else as long as I am in Santa Barbara. more

Haik's German Autohaus is Fantastic 9/13/2009

My wife and I purchased an Audi A4, which seemed like a good deal at the time. After the purchase, we discovered it had a few problems--scratch that--a lot of problems! Haik was concerned and passionate in making sure the vehicle was safe for my family. Haik walked us through our options and was willing to take care of the car in stages. He suggested to take care of the safety options first, since this is what we could afford at the time. He then started working on the other details which increased the cars performance and reliability. Our car now is awesome!!!! I really enjoyed working with Haik. So glad I went there! 7/21/2009

My Mini's transmission died, which as you can imagine was a huge bummer, and I am new to SB and had no clue where to go and found Haik's online. I'm so glad I went there, I was devestated and Haik was so caring and helpful-- I felt like he was actually looking out for me in addition to being an expert on cars. He guessed what the trouble was from my description on the phone, but wanted to check every option before he gave me a verdict, and even waited until Kurt had a chance to double check to make sure it wasn't something simpler/less expensive. After deciding it was indeed the transmission, which would run $6-7k, he actually suggested I call the dealership, even though it is no longer under warranty, and hassle them to see if they would give me some kind of deal since a car with 60k miles really shouldn't need a new transmission. He even offered to coach me through talking to them. GREAT service. I wouldn't go anywhere else. more

Haik's German Autohaus is amazing! 7/15/2009

When you walk into Haik's you are always greeted by a friendly smile and a warm greeting. I have been bringing my Passat to him for two years now and I am always impressed with the friendly, honest and caring service. It is like a breath of fresh air to meet a mechanic who is understanding and is willing to work with you to provide the best service possible. I highly recommend this autohaus and I will certainly keep coming to Haik as long as I own a lovely German vehicle. more

I needed a battery for my car- Haik and Kurt both took the time to explain how to install it (there was a trick to it) without making me feel stupid. They even gave me a discount on the part. Great service from two very friendly guys. more

Why go anywhere else??? 1/15/2009

I need to start out by saying, I will NOT be going back to SBAG! Why would I? \r I have Kirk Richter there, who worked on my car at SBAG for years. \r I had the light come on in my Mercedes telling me I need breaks? Well you know \r SBAG would have MADE me not just new pad?s but rotors too! I feel confident that Haik let me know I don?t need rotors at this time. That?s huge to me! Extra money not spent. \r First Class Business all the way! Thank you for your excellent service gentlemen! more

Regular Customer 9/19/2008

I have been going to Haik's ever since I began commuting from the Santa Ynez Valley to Santa Barbara, and back, daily. Not only do I get my car back in time to drive home each visit, I get updates throughout the day as to anything I wasn't aware of, friendly service, and a sense of safety every time I drive away. I like knowing that the people I'm trusting with my car know me by my first name and can guess by my habits what my car needs, before I even tell them. Luckily, Haik and Kurt know my car- so I don't have to. more

Haik's German Autohaus 11/16/2006

Haik performed an oil change and said he completed an inspection and he charged me over $700. He tried to bill me another $50 for wiper blades that I neither needed nor asked for. He failed to complete the sevice as outlined by BMW and failed to provide me with a list of what the inspection discovered, thereby making the inspection worthless. I expect to sue him. I definitely will not recommend him. more

Quality Service 1/23/2006

I have been going to Haik's since 1993, & have found that he's an experienced mechanic who really knows his field. I recommend him to all my friends. What I like about him is that he is thorough & conscientious. I trust him with my car & my safety. It's even better now with the addition a few years ago of Kurt Richter, another master mechanic who came from the dealership. When Kurt & Haik put their heads together they are able to solve the most difficult automotive problems. So, 17 years later, I'm still taking my car there. more

Haiks German Autohaus do the job right 8/3/2005

Haik's German Autohaus is a well-established business. Haik's know what they are doing on any German car, especially Mercedes for less than the dealership would cost for repairs. They also repair other types of autos with expertise. They are very thorough and do the job right; you can trust them completely to repair your car and not overcharge you. They charge only for what they do and that is to repair your car well. Located on Cota Street near Garden St.. Turn right into the parking lot which is a little tight. PROS: Excellent repair work you can trust. CONS: none. more
