Response from Kirk Rieger\r \r I'm sorry that marilynj had a bad experience with me. I don't know exactly who marilynj is because she didn't reveal her full name. \r At the end of the tax interview, I always go over the tax return with the client to make sure we have included everything. This client stated that she thought it took too long. It is more than likely that she never really reviewed the return and listened only for the refund amount. The review is supposed to be a collaboration.\r In most of the instances where the IRS claims the taxpayer has additional income not on the return, it is because the client either accidentally or not, didn't bring all documents to the interview or possibly filed their return before they had received all there documents. I have no way of knowing either of those things.\r In the end, however, the client got the refund they were entitled to and paid no fine or interest (would have been covered by H & R Block). more

I came here with my husband to get our taxes done and a man named Kirk Rieger prepared and filed them for us. \r During the time we were there, my husband and I realized that this man was not the smartest at what he was doing, but we let it go. Throughout the whole time, which was way longer than we should've been, my husband and I had to keep correcting his own paper work! We aren't accountants! Finally, when we were finished he told us what our refund would be and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount. Fast forward a month later, we get a letter in the mail from the IRS saying that we put down half of our earnings for the year and are getting less than half of what Kirk said we were getting! I am so frustrated and when I spoke to him, he said yes it was his fault that he overlooked and missed a step and that he was sorry, but if we would have bought something additional, he would be able to refund us the amount that we were told we were going to get. I am so upset, the only thing I can do is try and warn people of Kirk. Do not go to this H&R Block, more importantly, if you do, do not let Kirk prepare your taxes! more
