Terrible customer service 2/10/2012

I have been an H &R Block customer for a few years now but I will be sure not to use their services again. I will let friends and family follow in taking my business elsewhere. I was appalled at the customer service I received at this branch. First of all, my appointment with Pat was set for 3:45 but while I waited about 30 minutes past my appointment time, (I had to pick up my baby from daycare, which she didn?t seem to care about), I wasn?t offered any apologies or explanations. Other customers who had come in after me got helped first. Then when I eventually got to sit down with her at her untidy, disorganized, paper-strewn desk, she tried to make small, time-wasting talk, but didn?t bother to listen or wait for me to finish answering her, then forgot what I just told her. Then, exhausted from a long day, I had to sit and listen to her rant on and on about her family issues ?who cares if her relationship with her child was not good... Then she told me that she got ?extra? money back that others wouldn?t have been able to - yeah right ? I tried TaxAct Online and the IRS website when I got home and I ended up with about the same amount (and more on TaxAct) that she did? When my time was up, she dropped everything to rush over to the counter to make sure I paid $200 for a simple straight-forward tax return ? daylight robbery. Then after making me a promise that should I get audited, H&R Block would take care of things for me, a week after doing my taxes I called upon her services to redo a simple 1040 EZ and asked if they could waive the fee, since it was a very simple straight-forward 1040EZ , but she refused and insisted that she cannot do so ? that she has to charge me ? never mind that I am a repeat customer, and the fact that I just paid $200 for a simple tax return... Never once did she mention that HR Block doesn?t charge for 1040EZ but she instead referred me to a public tax service. When I called her back to confirm that this service at HR Block was supposed to be free (I wanted an answer as to why she never mentioned it to me), she placed me on hold and never ever bothered to come back to the phone - ever. I find Pat O?Connor to be extremely rude, absent-minded, false, makes promises that she has no intention of keeping and definitely needs to learn customer skills. In her own words ? she doesn?t remember her customers. Doesn?t that tell you a lot about the person doing your taxes??? Patricia O?Connor is by far the worst H&R Block associate I have ever dealt with and if Henry and Richard Bloch were to play ?Undercover Boss?, they would probably fire her on the spot. I know I would? Pros: null Cons: null more
