In 2004, we purchased a mattress with a 10 year warranty from Hom Furniture in Lakeville, MN. The mattress began to sag within a year, but became very uncomfortable about 18 months after we got it. We called Hom, and they sent a "technician" out to check the mattress. He told us that the sag was only 1 3/4" deep, and was not bad enough for warranty replacement. After trying everything we could think of to make the mattress more comfortable, we found out that the warrenty covered any sags over 1 1/2 inches. When I called Hom, they said the warranty had changed since we purchased the mattress. I then called the mattress manufacturer and found that the warranty has always been the same. HOM LIED! We finally got them to give us credit for the entire amount we spent the first time and chose a new mattress. When it was time to schedule a delivery time, we were told that since it was a replacement we would have to wait a week. I was in the store at the time and blew my top! We got our new mattress the next day. Hopefully we'll have better luck this time. In the future, I will spend my furniture dollars somewhere else, but not at HOM.
Pros: Lots of parking, attractive displays
Cons: If an item is defective, HOM personnel will lie to keep from making good on the warranty.
