HARPOON BREWERY

Located down by the World Trade Center, the Harpoon brewery isn't near very much. Aside from taking the new silver line into the area, you probably have to drive. The Brewery has a few big festivals every year, the highlight probably being the Oktoberfest. It is $12 to get in and then you still have to pay for food and beer, but the beer is fresh and there are traditional German OOM PA PA (sp?) bands rocking out. It's a great time. Otherwise, just pop in and take a tour, or better yet, go straight to the gift shop and fill up a huge Growler bottle with your favorite beer to take home for only $5. It doesn't get much better than that. more

The Harpoon Brewery is a great place to visit for a tour or for one of their 4 seasonal festivals held there. The brewery tour is guided by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Small admission price includes free samples for those of drinking age at the end of the tour. The festivals here are very popular and are considered the best parties in town. For a low admission price, and small per beer price, you can join these boisterous crowds under the tents for a few hours. It's a great place to party with the younger half of Boston! more

Harpoon Brewery offers the best place to get some beer for a quiet night at home. I love filling up a growler for the bargain price of 5 bucks! You can't beat that price! Also for the eco-friendly, you save six bottles with the refillable growler. I highly recommend this spot! more

This is a great spot to take a tour, sample some beer, and check out great gear. The Harpoon Brewery is a working brewery with a small visitors center. They have daily tours and tastings where they describe the beer-brewing process and the different types of beer made by Harpoon. Samples are available during the tour. You can also step out onto a catwalk over the brewery to see the big vats and kettles. You can buy fresh beer on tap to drink there or take home. There are also lots of neat Harpoon items to purchase such as t-shirts, bumper stickers and pint glasses. You can also get special limited-batch beers when they're available. The tour would be better if you could actually go out into the brewery instead of just on the catwalk, but you can understand why not since it is a working brewery. more
