Not a real college 4/3/2016

If you are looking to enhance your life by earning a degree I do NOT recommend attendance here. This school is NOT properly accredited to transfer to "real" colleges or universities in Georgia (Devry, Herzing, and other bogus for profit 'schools' are the only places your credits will transfer and the prices are astronomical). The ACICS accreditation means nothing. An associates degree should not cost you $32,000! You will end up with a very expensive piece of paper at the end of your journey. The students I met all struggled to find a job after graduating. They will sell you lies about a 90% job placement rate...do not buy it. Getting a job at the grocery store is not applicable if it does not apply to the field in which you studied. Do yourself a favor and go to an accredited community college instead. The staff is very nice, but nice doesn't get you a job and pay the bills. If I could undo the mistake of going there and wasting my valuable time and money I most certainly would. The biggest mistake I made was not doing enough research and if I can save one person from making the same mistake that I did that would be a good thing. Please do your homework and go to a community college that costs a fraction of this place and that can potentially earn you a degree that will be taken seriously. This institution is a fraud. more

A Very Special THANKS to Gwinnett College and their Staff!!! 5/6/2015

I graduated in 2005 with an Associates degree as a Paralegal. I met new friends and had fun in all my classes. I graduated with honors thanks to the staff and their willingness to always assist me with any school work or questions I may have had. I still to this day remain friends with the staff and sometimes still seek their guidance in areas of business and my personal life. Gwinnett College gave me the confidence and support I needed to go out into the real world and conquer anything I set my mind to and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Gwinnett College for having FAITH in me! :-) more

Best experience ever! 8/3/2012

Hi! My name is Rose, and I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. Thanks to Gwinnett College, I am a graduate of three programs – Computer Information Systems, Massage Therapy, and Associate of Science Degree in Business. In addition, I am 25 hours away from the completion of the Personal Trainer Program. That’s quite an accomplishment for me. I first enrolled at Gwinnett College in 1999. I was 35 years old, had a family, and construction work was all I knew how to do. I desperately needed a career change. I needed to learn a new profession and needed to enhance my technical skills. So that’s what I did. Later I decided that I wanted to work in a profession where I could help others and also gain health benefits for myself. That’s when I pursued massage therapy and personal training. I have found my skill, my profession! I recently received my Georgia state license, and thanks to the job placement program at Gwinnett College, I am working in the field in my new career path. I currently work for SG Pain Management in Duluth, and Falcon Fitness and Optimum Body Care in Flowery Branch. I now have a handful of my own clients¬ -how great is that! Gwinnett College is THE BEST THING that has ever happened to me! In 14 years of association with them, I highly recommend them. Not only are they the best staff, instructors, and classmates, but to me they are life-long friends. more

One of the Best Decisions I Made 1/25/2012

I chose to attend Gwinnet College because, like most adults with financial responsibilities and family obligations, I found myself working at an unsatisfying job wondering if this was all I was destined to do. I had looked into going back to school for almost two years but always found an excuse not to. I can't afford it. I'm too "mature" to go back. Class time won't fit with my work schedule. I don't want to take a whole bunch of unnecessary classes. Then, I had an moment of clarity and all the reasons and excuses for why I couldn't go back to school disappeared and only one question remained: If not now, when? So, I made my appointment with the admissions counselor to discuss the next chapter in my life. We reviewed the course curriculum, financial aid options, and class schedules. After two years of reasons why I couldn't go back to college, I made my decision in less than an hour and enrolled for classes beginning the very next week. If I had any reservations about the "maturity level" of the student body, they were put to rest the first day. Most of us had similar situations. We had been in the work force long enough to know what we didn't want to do for the rest of our lives but couldn't, or wouldn't, leave our jobs without motivation. Unfortunately, there is no greater motivation for a career change than a recession and increasing unemployment. And even though some of us came to school on less than ideal circumstances, we knew we were here for a greater purpose. Gwinnett College offered everything I needed to pursue my degree: a complete curriculum, financial aid options, non-traditional student body and a flexible schedule that fit my lifestyle. In less than two years, the same amount of time I had spent pondering whether or not to go back to school, I graduated with an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies and a Diploma in Accounting. more

Great Two Year College 11/23/2011

Good: Gwinnett College turned out to be the best thing for me. I was not sure what I wanted to do and the guidance I received lead me to decide my career. The instructors give you tough love for sure and I am so glad for that. Education is about independence and self-reliance...they taught me all that. The careers services worked me with patiently and guided me to my current employement, which is my field.. Bad: It gets pretty cold the classrooms sometimes but I guess all I needed to do was put on a jacket :). Improvements: I would love for this school to have a larger breakroom for the students as the current capacity can only cater for 150 students.. Other: The faculty and staff are really helpful and friendly and students can walk into their offices at anytime if there is something they need. They even try and tailor your classes around your work schedule...how awesome is that !!. more

Gwinnett College 9/14/2006

I went here for my Associate's Degree, and found it to be a very nice experience. This is a private, non-traditional student school that really cares about it's students and their lives. I can remember a few times where things happened to really prove this, such as; an administrator taking a person home and picking them up the next morning when their car broke down. I got my ASB there, but, they also have medical assisting, medical office administration, paralegal, etc. Plus, if you're looking to continue your education past the Associate's, then they have agreements with DeVry, Herzing, Un. of Phoenix, etc., to be able to continue. Good School. more
