Using the form GVS supplied, I applied to be a wholesale vendor at a variety show managed by Aaron Burkholder. Despite my expectation of a straightforward application process, my application was unexpectedly rejected. The response signed by Aaron with approval from owner/minister James Herr, included remarks that felt like personal attacks, including an accusation that I was trying to "hide [my] identity for the sake of gleaning information ... at the expense of another's ignorance. As professing conservative Anabaptist Christians who claim obedience to the commands of Christ, it should be our joy to live an open and transparent life, both personally and professionally." I was dumbfounded and have no idea what he's talking about. I have no prior acquaintance with these individuals, but this reply struck me as overly paranoid, and from a Mennonite minister at that. Attempts to resolve this letter's attacks were met with the assertion of their business's 'right to refuse service' on any grounds. This experience left me feeling that the decision was not based on fair or professional criteria. While others may have had positive interactions, my experience with their application process was disappointing and unprofessional. more

This little Mennonite store in rural Missouri has something for everybody. A generous selection of Christian greeting cards, stationary, home-made quilted pot holders, cookbooks, men's and boys work clothing, ladies and children's sweaters, handmade aprons, baby items, old fashioned toys, candles...and more! The prices are reasonable, and you shop in a peaceful atmosphere, often with Mennonite acapella music in the background. This is a walk in store and also available through mail order. I have ordered, books, CDs, sewing supplies, hair and headcovering products, shoes and an ocassional other item. The product line covers the items a plain person would want or anyone who sews at home along with a variety of Christian products that are not as easy to find. Service is excellent, every call has been rewarded with friendly prompt help. I have never had to return anything. more

GVS is a wonderful company to purchase items via mail order. For the person who may not like to shop in retail stores or has a hard time getting to them, this company is great for them. They carry clothing items, toys, baby items, sewing notions, and more. I enjoy looking through their catalogs that come about four times a year as well as an annual catalog. I have ordered a few times from this company with great results each time. Their customer service is superb! Their prices are very reasonable as are their shipping rates. I highly recommend this company to others.
