Gunny's Air Conditioning & Htg

BEWARE THEY ARE OVER PRICED. I am a landlord and my new tenant was having problems with the a/c not cooling. Before he moved in my previous tenant had called the out for the same situation. On 6/14/2013 they fixed a compressor run cap and charged $562.40.then on 8/16/2013 they were called out again because the a/c was not cooling. That time they sid the filter plugged indoor coil dirty and low on freon was the diagnosis. he cleaned the coil and put in 5lbs of freon at a cost of $688.50 the cost of the freon was $48 a lb. On 8/30 2 weeks later no cooling again. My tenant called them to check the a/c and they wanted to charge a$75 service call even tho they were just there. When he showed up at the house he told the tenant that the a/c had lots of bad parts and that it was going to cost the landlord thousands of dollars to get it fixed. After that I got a second opinion. They said the a/c was old but everything was working and no need to replace at this time. Empire air fixed the leaks that were near the coils which could have happedned when gunnys cleaned them. The charge for the freon from empire air was half the cost of what gunnys charges. So beware if you are planning on using them. more

Called them when my AC stopped working and I told the tech what I thought the problem was. He tested the part and it was just as I thought, a failed start up Capacitor. He installed a new one and then told me it is very rare and it is $240.00!! I couldn't believe it and after looking them up online I find out they are only $20.00!!! I called them back and they refuse to refund any money and are ripping me off over $200.00. Don't believe a word these people say because they will take advantage of your emergency and lie to your face. There is nothing ""Rare"" about my capacitor and they are all over. I am pretty sure they have ripped off the other people there that have had them work on their equipment so do some research for your selves. These people are thieves and should be out of business. more
