BAD customer service 12/18/2014

I'm only giving Gunnies one star because I can't submit a 0-star rating. I bought a pair of boots there and the pull-up strap broke on them 5 days later. Took the boots and receipt back and was told that because the boots were "defective", their policy was to give me store credit or another pair of boots. I did not have the option to get my money back, although it clearly states on my receipt that I can get my money back within 30 days with the receipt. They acted as though the boots being defective was my fault. Crummy customer service, Gunnies. I'll never shop there again! more

Not Friendly 1/25/2013

Called on the phone to see if they had a gun in stock. They told me they did and I told them I'd be right there to pick it up. I got there and they had just sold it to someone else. That happens. I get it. Can't be upset about that. But the way they treated me was awful. No apologies for driving 20 minutes for nothing. No information about possibly backordering or calling when more stock came in. All I got was, "We sold it." Then I asked about another rifle of the same style that I saw on display. "Sold", was the response I got. Bunch of jerks. I guess that's what happens when you get that big. I was ready to spend $4-5k there today on several firearms. They aren't getting a cent from me now. more

Love Gunnies! 7/11/2011

I have always the found the guys at Gunnies to be very helpful, courteous and patient. Even when I've been there at their busiest times, they try and give each customer their undivided attention (which I notice frustrates the impatient people who don't think they should have to wait their turn, but is very nice when you are the one being helped!) Two of the guys work on guns as well and one of them, Chris, did some excellent custom work on a 1911 for me. Their ammo prices are cheaper than most places, and their gun selection is quite broad. If you're into western wear, they have great stuff too. The only problem I've found is that sometimes it's hard to get a clerk to help you in their clothing section. more

Future business? 3/4/2011

I have purchased 10-12 guns from Gunnies along with hats, boots ammo, acessories, knives and other things. Until very recently I have had very good services there. They had a used AR, I was told it was a Bushmaster Varminter with 2 stage trigger and several other features .I layed it away until pay day. I looked it up on the intenet and It turned out to be a Vmatch from Bushmaster which is very different. I wanted my money back and i got it begrudgingly. i would like to buy a AR from them but I am now concerned with how they will react. (Their no oc guns sign is no diferent then Cabellas is, by the way.) I hope they understand that many of us have questions and may look a while before buying. it is big deal to get a gun for me and i want it to right. more

Won't write them off yet. 11/26/2010

It seems many reviewers only want to report negative events.\r \r I first went to Gunnies about 2.5 years ago. After about 6 visits in 6 months I finally bought an XD-40. The pistol department guys seem knowledgeable and the treated me pretty well. After I bought they seemed to spend less time with me. Was it because I was honest with them, told them I had spent all I could afford but was researching my next buy in another 8-9 months? I don't know. I have purposely gone in at odd hours when they were not busy and still seemed to get a cold shoulder.\r \r I went in one time when the guy and lady bought two pistols in about 10 minutes and assured the sales rep they would back next month. -- I just can't afford that kind of buying. I like to look, hold 5 or 6 pistols and 4 or 5 rifles then still walk out.\r \r Perhaps they have changed management or something. I agree their time for "looky-Lous" has been greatly curtailed. But, I am still going to give them a couple more trys before I more

BAD SERVICE! 6/25/2010

I have been in the store exactly twice. Both times I was summarily ignored even after waiting for a significant amount of time. On the second visit, one of the counter people looked around me to help someone behind me. I wouldn't give this place my business EVER. Horrible customer service. I wrote a letter concerning this matter to the management. It was also ignored. more

Gun Repair Continued 5/4/2010

A followup to my previous post. The management did contact me with a very nice letter of explanation as to the context of the gunsmith phonecall and why gunsmithing costs and charges are high. I still give the store and the retail sales 5 stars. I think they are a great organization. I can appreciate how difficult it is to stay in business with govt regs and taxes. That being the case, it sounds like the repair costs (any gunsmith?) are such that it is not worth getting a $500 gun fixed these days. A new gun is a better fix. I will certainly continue to buy guns at gunnies. The sales guys have always been great to me. more

Gun Repair - Don't!!! 4/21/2010

Gunnies is a good gunshop with great selection and reasonable prices. Sales staff have always been good to me. The problem is with gun repair. I waited 20 minutes while the gunsmith talked on the phone advising another gunsmith on how to soak the customer on the repair bill. Charge no less than $70/hr, markup parts 75% (3X), make customers return to pickup a simple repair and charge more, rather than an immediate cheap quick fix. In this case, BS talked and I walked! He was still at it when I left. Who knows what else he said. I sent an email to the management but never got a response. more

Great selection/fair prices 4/4/2010

Fair prices (you can ALWAYS find something for less on the 'net!) and they price match anybody in Utah County. Knowledgeable and helpful sales crew. There must be some reason they're in the top five retailers of guns in all of Utah, and it's not because of high prices or bad attitudes. Sounds like someone has an agenda ;). more

Good Store 2/8/2010

Ive been all over and gunnies has the best prices on guns, ammo, and gear. I will continue to give them my business. more

Gunnies less expensive than most UT county 8/19/2009

Overpriced compared to whom? I shop gun stuff regularly in Utah county and have found Gunnies to be less expensive than Sportsmen's Warehouse and Cabela's on guns and reloading supplies. And more so than that, they actually have inventory on hand instead of being an "out-house" like so many local stores. Saved $200.00 on a M1A last week versus Cabelas. Berrys bullets, Rock River arms are competitive and better than most. If you want to buy crap ammo and supplies, shop somewhere else. If you're looking for quality and value at a reasonable price, these guys are pretty good. Brick and mortar stores can't compete with internet retailers so don't expect them too. They offer service, information and help. Internet offers price only. more

Guns, anyone? 11/18/2008

This store specializes in guns but they also have a large variety of of hunting and sporting gear. Their prices are a bit high but they run ads and you can get some good deals if you don't mind waiting. Also they are very knowledgeable and can help you with any questions you might have. more

Lots of selections but too expensive 11/30/2005

Just like the name suggests, they sell guns, all kinds of guns like hand guns, rifles and shotguns. The have a good selection of goods, but their prices are just too expensive. You can probably find things much cheaper in other stores. Unless it's something you really want and couldn't find somewhere else. But I'd still suggest you look online like in Ebay, and you probably will find it much cheaper. more

Ok place, but overpriced 11/1/2005

Gunnies is a place I have visited on only two occasions. The first, time I was looking for some jeans, but left empty -handed as I found their prices to not only be extremely high, but the selection somewhat limited as well. The second time I went, I hoped to find some boots at a good price, but as with my first visit, I was disappointed by their high prices. I will not be visiting a third time. PROS: None CONS: High prices, limited selection. more

not worth it 9/3/2005

High and overpriced is all I can say about this sporting good shop. If you cant find it elsewhere, they will overprice it until you either buy or walk out. I have walked out on many occasions only to find the items online at a huge discount. I guess they figure most sportsmen dont have the time to internet so thats how they get their price. more
