Best view 6/13/2013

The best part of the Seagull is the view. A giant picture window of the surf. We went for the storms and this time were not disappointed. Nothing like opening the window to hear the waves crashing and have the salty air blowing. I don't think there is fresher air than a nice 50 MPH gust. After a while, close the windows and the sounds are a distant memory, but the view remains (they wash the windows daily if needed). The rooms are large. The bed is a real king. The fake fireplace is enjoyable. Everything is clean, not completely sterile, but clean. The bathroom is also clean. Some have complained about the showerhead height, I kind of liked it, my hair didn't get wet everytime I showered. Management told us they spent a bunch getting the water temperature not to fluctuate. It must have worked because I didn't notice it. more

Pretty good selection 6/6/2013

I stopped by during lunch wanting to look at a Remington 870. On a whim I asked if they had any Glock 26s and the same older gentleman showed me a used Gen 3 Glock 26. Again, no pressure, I looked at it and it seemed as if it barely had a box of ammo through it, with night sights to boot! I ended up leaving with a new (to me) Glock 26. So much for a shotgun. The customer service here is second to none, very friendly staff, and cute girls. The selection is pretty good, and they can always special order something for you. more

Never felt pressured 5/29/2013

I've been here two times. My first time I came in after work with the intention of looking and comparing a Gen 4 Glock 19, seeing how it feels, etc. I was greeted by an older gentleman and offered to show me the 19. He was friendly and never pressured me. I asked him about their layaway program and he answered every question I had. I compared the 19 to an XD9 Compact for about 30 minutes, contemplating if I should spring for the Gen 4 or not. Never was I pressured at any time. After about half an hour I went for it and put the down payment on the Glock. The girl in the back was cute and filled out the form. more

I have spent countless hours researching my purchase options on-line, but nothing compares to holding something in hand, feeling its balance and weight. Some places you practically have to beg for attention. This was not my experience at the Gun Broker. I had two different people helping me throughout my very long decision process. I did not feel I was being pushed to one option over another. Each time I asked to see something, they knew something useful about it and shared both good and bad points. I highly recommend this business as both knowledgeable and friendly. I thought their selection was large, though they were apologetic for having been cleaned out during the holiday season. This is a purchase I never thought I would make. The Gun Broker made it easy. more

Walking in, it was a typical gun store, though more organized than many. Plus, they have this rustic split rail wood fence that runs along the walls where their handguns are displayed. That fence is the dividing line between you, the customer, and all the handguns they have for sale. The fence lends an "old west" feel to the transaction as customer and shop clerk pass weapons back and forth over the fence in the quest for just the right one. Each gun is easily identified by a white sign on the wall next to it that indicate make, model, new or used status, and price. What a refreshing way to shop. Prior to coming here, I was overwhelmed by walls of weaponry with minimal or no identifying information. I was forced to request "that silver one, no not the blingy pimped out one, the other one with the rubberized grips." Here I could easily identify what I wanted to see without feeling like an uninformed idiot. more

I don't plan to hunt down my next meal. I don't have any strongly held beliefs about the second amendment. I'm not an enthusiast, an activist, a devotee, or a militant. I'm just a girl, who had a crazy weekend in Vegas, which lead to my discovery that I really, really enjoy target shooting. This discovery has led me into places in the metro area that I have often wondered about, but until recently never entered. The Gun Broker is one such establishment. It is in a strip mall on 82nd in deep Clackamas County. I could have easily driven right by if it were not for the mattress sign slinger dancing around on the corner. more
