Editorial review from GrubHub 6/20/2013

Is the food good? Who knows? Even though they are listed as delivering and open now, they don't bother confirming your order, so it eventually gets cancelled. Don't bother ordering from this place. Apparently, they don't know how this site works or their customer service just sucks. more

Great Food / Great Service / Great Prices 3/16/2011

I want to give a big THANK YOU to Gullivers Pizza and Pub in Oakbrook Terrace! My husband and I were looking to host a rather large party for our son who has enlisted in the U.S. Army! We needed a location that could accommodate a large crowd and keep the prices affordable. The party was a huge hit! All 100 of our guest had a fantastic time and raved about the food as well as the service. It was a great accomplishment on your behalf to fully service all 100 people with drinks, food and just plain good fun! Your service and food is impeccable! Your Staff is wonderful and extremely accommodating. George, you were a great help in assisting me with planning my party. Your support and expertise, made an emotional mother worry only about her son’s happiness, not the difficult task of party planning. Tommy, all your help with the pictures was very much appreciated. Please thank your staff who serviced our guests with smiles, professionalism and tremendous support! One of the best rewards for us as parents was hearing our son tell us that his party was probably the best night of his life! Thank you again for helping us throw a tremendous send off party for our son! Since the party, several of our friends and family have called to tell us that they have returned to Gullivers with their own families and have continued to enjoy your great atmosphere and fantastic food. Our son will return home in June 2011 for his leave after basic training. You can believe that this will be one of our stops before he returns to the military to carry on with his journey! \r \r Gullivers is a MUST TRY! It’s a great location for lunch, dinner or just a few drinks! \r more

Proper Review 8/28/2010

As i read the other posted comments, I notice that that are talking about the wrong place. Only one person actually talked about the right place. Many people remember this location as Champs. A few years ago, they changed the name to Rivals due to the fact that Champs Americana had opened not to far away. Last year on Aug 24th, the name had changed again, along with a HUGE upgrade to the inside. So today its called Gullivers Pizza & Pub. \r Basically this place is nothing like what other ""reviewers"" said it was. There is no big fat ""Afflication"" wearing owner. They dont serve hotdogs, and it is most certainly not a gay bar with ass slapping going on.\r This is half family pizza place, half sports bar. They serve awesome food at great prices. They offer like 25 or more tv;s to watch just about anything you can think of. they also have a large raised patio which has been the best place for summer time lunches.\r inside they have a pool table, golden tee, a dart board and after the dining rooms closes they have bean bags and even have a life size jenga game ( which is hard to play after many beers ) .\r And when it comes to staff, its one of the most fun places to be, they know how to take care of you with a smile and know how to throw a party too.\r i love going in on mondays and weds. cause they have trivia night(mon) and karaoke(weds), which they have 1/2 half any thin crust pizza ! \r i've also signed up for the tues pool league, we'll see how that goes... and i've also been known to go in late sundays to play bags.\r Overall this is a great low key neighborhood bar (i drink more then i eat ) that your always welcome at.\r and get to know the owners, they have no issues buying you a drink !\r \r So to those of you who have written things that dont make any sense, please make sure you try this place again, and them review it properly. more

The pizza isn't the only thing that's greasy 6/9/2010

Had seen this place driving too and from work for quite some time now, thought I'd give it a shot. Me and a couple buddies went in to watch the NBA Western Conference Finals only to find that every TV in there was tuned into either American Idol or America's Next Top Model. We saw a special that caught our attention though ($2 foot longs) and being that we both enjoy a good hot dog, we stuck around hoping to see if we could eat and maybe get someone to put the game on for us. This is where my experience went bad. I asked several of the waiters (guys in their mid 20s) and was refused the right to change just one of the TVs. I even heard one of them mutter under his breath ""NBA? where do you think you are, mr. split ends?"" Finally me and my buddy had enough. We asked to speak with the owner or the manager or whatever. After 5 minutes of bantering back and forth, they finally let me talk to him, although they told me I had to wait 10 minutes while he ""prepared"" (whatever that means). So I took this time to use the bathroom. It was then that I had my most jaw-dropping experience thus far. I walk in the bathroom and see 3 tanned/bronzed 20-something men oiling eachother's bodies and basically dry humping one another. I ran out of there, literally my stomach in knots. At this point, I didn't even want to speak to the owner anymore, I just wanted to grab my friend and get out. As I come walking out to leave, someone comes walking up to me in a tight purple outfit that resembled something out of Prince's closet. ""Yeah?"" he asks. I'm like great, this is the owner, now I see why this place is the way it is. I kindly asked him if my buddy and I could watch the NBA Western Conference Finals game on TV. He yells NO! ""The game is fixed anyway."" "" Stern has these refs in his pockets."" ""The public was all over the Lakers tonight."" I couldn't even make sense of this as all I wanted to do was watch some NBA playoff action and grab a bite and a beer with my friend. I called my buddy over and we got the hell out of there. Just as I'm leaving the owner yells over ""don't you guys want to try a $2 foot long?"" and right after he says this proceeds to deep throat the entire hot dog with one bite. Unreal! Needless to say, this was a horrifying experience and I won't be going back. It was definitely cheap though, if that's what you like. Pros: cheap Cons: the things i saw going on in the bathroom more

Great Price Great Food Great Atmosphere 6/9/2010

Decided to give this place a whirl the other night and boy did I make the right choice. Was able to take my friends out for an excellent meal that cost just under 20 units. You can't say that about too many places these days, you might even say ""Its the BOMB."" Even had enough food to take out a doggy bag for my dog Guapo, rofl. I am a highly successful businessman that has many responsibilities and subordinates and will recommend this place to everyone I come in contact with. Even found a nice gentleman to give me a ride home and think I may have made a new special friend that is into watersports like me Pros: Sports galore on TV, excellent food Cons: Greasy waiter more

wow 6/8/2010

so...I wanted to take the wide and kids out on a Tuesday night for a few slices of pizza...we see this place ""gullivers"" and I pull in. As soon as we walk in we are greeted by this oversized ape who supposebly owns the place. The guy was wearing eyeliner and talked with a huge lisp. His affliction shirt was 3 sizes too small and he immediately made my entire family uncomfortable with his heavy nose breathing and stares. We thought this was a nice family joint until we hear adam lambert on loop on the jukebox. Listed..i got nothing against alternative lifestyles but this place was ridiculous....guys slapping each others asses...all male staff etc.......food tasted like shi t too fwiw Pros: easy access parking to get the F out of there Cons: where do i start? more

Fun food & drinks 11/8/2002

This is a good place for lunch and after work drinks. We have gone here many times for both and have been happy with the food, service and atmosphere. We try different places to check them out, but we are always happy to come back to Champs. Pros: Nice size crowd Cons: Bad parking lot more
