Don't go here 11/15/2005

Every time my husband drags me into this store, I am repulsed. There are people playing WAY too loud on the instruments, plus it is super dark and seems dirty. The people there are nice, but I would not suggest purchasing an instrument from here, as it can be found elsewhere for a better price. more

So-so 11/15/2005

I like Sam Ash better, but they are essentially the same thing...a lot of kids in there playing all the instruments, kinda loud. I think they seem a little older, scruffier, and dingier. The people there are helpful if you ask them questions, but they leave you alone otherwise. Maybe they are deaf from all the kids playing their instruments! more

Yet another OK chain music store 6/15/2005

The one good thing about the big chain music equipment stores is their ability to mark their stuff down. Their selection is is decent, but a little smaller than Sam Ash. The drum section here is pretty small. They do have some equipment here that Sam Ash does not with is a plus. more

Hahaha. 5/31/2005

Oh what better place there is to make you want to commit suicide than Guitar Center! Seriously, how do their employes stand it? A bunch of whack "musicians" coming in and wanking off on equipment all day long. I can't stand to be in there any longer than ten minutes. How can someone put up with it for an 8 hour shift? I pity the employees, I really do. For that reason, I have respect for them because they've always been kind to me despite how annoying their job may be. There's not really much else to be said. It's the Wal-Mart of music equipment. Go there and buy whatever you need, I guess. Personally, I'd go with a locally owned business first. more

Music store hell. 5/31/2005

Same problems as Sam Ash. Just a grating atmosphere, and no real price advantages. Guitar Center is slightly less irritating than Sam Ash, although I'm not altogether sure why. It's a good place to try out equipment that you might want to buy somewhere else, I suppose. Try to avoid. more
