Guarantee Plumbing arrived an hour late to the appointment my wife scheduled days in advance. The plumber did not apologize or acknowledge he was late. I showed him the drain that was clogged, it was a simple clog and the only reason we hired a plumber was to save us a trip to home depot to buy a $26.91 pipe snake router (already ruined by Guarantee Plumbing being an hour late). This appointment was originally supposed to be a ""Free Estimate"". After Guarantee's employee went to the laundry room to the clogged drain, he asked, ""Do you want the free estimate, or do you want me to just take care of it?"" This is where I made my mistake, I said, ""I would like for you to just take care of it,"" knowing all the steps he had to take to unclog this drain. Expectedly, he finished the job within 15 minutes using his pipe snake router attachment to his power drill. I said ""Thank you for the help."" He then went off to take care of the invoice. When he got back he gave me the invoice for $218.00. This was simply ridiculous. There was a $25 ""trip"" fee that didn't make much sense since it as a ""free"" estimation to begin with but, whatever, he did service the drain, that's fine. Then, there was the $193 ""drain clog removal"" fee. For 15 minutes of work and after being unapologetically late I paid Guarantee Plumbing $772 an hour. I understand that it was my mistake to ask him to ""Go ahead and take care of it,"" but an honest company would see that their invoice was WAY off base, and in order to keep their clientele, change the invoice to something a little more reasonable. In the end they did refund $50 making my payment $573.00 an hour, which is still outrageous. I guarantee I will never use this company again, and I would not recommend them to anyone. After all this they called me and accused me of not paying my bill, I read them my receipt and explained to them that this was a clerical error on their part. This has been a nightmare.
