Consistently inconsistent! My wife and I love authentic Mexican food and this restaurant often does that very well. However, it also often badly misses with poor service and inconsistent servings. Tonight we had a combination of poor servive and inconsistent food. Our waiter had no desire to even be there and announced it when our group arrived. I guess we should have known that was a bad omen. We had a group of 10. Getting enough salsa to go with the excellent chips was impossible. When the food came...part of our group was served and then the waiter started serving another group. Everyone went oooohhhhh! when faitas came out for some in our party...but much later they still had not received soft shells to eat it with. Finally my wife and my food came out long after the others in our group were almost done. We both ordered the same dish but got totally different meals! Mine was not even what was ordered. This is not our first negative experience at this restaurant. We have had good meals here...but the inconsistency makes this a restaurant experience one you should skip! more

Below average food, nice staff, fast 1/5/2009

This food is not authentic, or even close to it. My chiles rellenos was half a chile pepper topped with ground beef and then drowned in nacho chees sauce. Not even close to authentic. The enchilada sauce tastes like it came from a can, and nothing had any flavor to it! Typical, or even worse than typical Americanized Mexican food. The staff was nice, but not very good. I asked for corn tortillas, got flour, asked for cream for coffee, it took 10 minutes, asked for ranch dressing, and the server literally set a huge bottle of it on my table, didn't put it in a ramiken or anything. Asked for separate bills before we ordered, bill came together. Asked for fresh jalepenos and the server brough be the canned kind and told me they don't have fresh (obviously I would have paid for them) What kind of Mexican place doesn't have fresh jalepenos!? Pros: cute set up, friendly staff, big portions, fast Cons: food flavor, speed of staff, more

Best Mexican in Twin Ports! 1/24/2005

This is the best Mexican place to eat in the Duluth/Superior area. They are fast, cheap, and authentic. The food is top notch, food is made much the way that it is made in Mexico. The staff is also very authentic. They are very fluent in Spanish and English. Extremely nice and accomidating. The Guad (as I lovingly call it) is simply the best place to eat in Superior/Duluth if you are craving great mexican food. Pros: inexpensive, great parking, small crowd more
