I was shocked to read the neg reviews about this store. My mother died in April and I have gotten excellent advice and assistance with her estate from both owners. All at the store were courteous and very prompt even though I had no appt. I found them to be thorough in their evaluation, honest even though it wasn't always what i wanted to hear and fair when buying some of what I brought in. I couldn't recommend them more highly. more

Rudest Clerks In Town 4/18/2012

The absolute rudest clerk I've seen in any retail store. I went in to look at some estate jewelry; one clerk was busy with a vendor and called a 2nd clerk from the back. That clerk was apparently mad that he had to come out front and would not answer one question about the item I came in to look at unless I promised to buy the item THAT DAY...needles to say I'll not go back. Their store is recognized as the bottom of the barrel in town anyway so I guess I won?t be missing out on much. more

TERRIBLE SERVICE 4/22/2010

On my fiance's search to find an engagement ring to my specifications (no diamonds, no gold color, affordable!!...) he went to Grubba Jewelers first, as he knows I also appreciate at support local buisness. When he went in, the attending person continued to show him extremely expensive diamond rings. All of which he specifically didn't ask for. \r He found my engagement ring at a Kohl's store, and was open about where he bought it, and to be honest, I didn't care. But I did want to try and support local buisness by taking it back to Grubba's to have it sized. The lady that orignally attended to me was very kind. Then the jeweler (who was sitting at the counter, doing much of nothing besides having a LOUD political conversation with a pal of his) saw my ring. He started criticizing the ring. A few gems of conversation "I won't back my work up on this ring" "Cant you just take this back to Target and get a different size?" "Make sure you take their money first"...\r My fiance actually had more

I have purchased many items from Grubba Jewelers over the years and have ALWAYS felt that I got a great deal; whether it was a new piece or one of their heirloom pieces. more

worthless diamond 3/8/2010

well, they are very good at the sale and convincing you of the value of a diamond. Like most jewelers you will get a receipt saying how valuable the piece is. The fact is, the only valuable piece in any jewelry is the gold content. I was not satisfied after the purchase and asked to sell the piece back to them at a significant loss (bought for $750- sell back for $500). I was told that they had no interest in the diamond but would purchase the gold. Do yourself a favor and invest in a gold piece only. Precious stones lose most of their value the minute you leave the store. I would not deal with Grubba jewelers again. more
