Editorial review from Citysearch 2/23/2013

I could not nor would I ever promote Groveway Vet again, after the passing of Russ Hackler. What they did to my puppy who went in for stitches, and I find out they cut off over 1"" of his ear without getting my permission or to find out if he is a show dog, which he is! Then putting him on medication and denying the side effects, when I looked up the medications and the side effects; the doctor had lied. then had the nerve to say my puppy needed to be put to sleep 4 times in less than a minuet, and compared him to a gun toting child killer and all hunting breeds should have to wear muzzles 24 hours a day 7days a week. No one should take their pets to a vet who has their own agenda, making decisions for you without consulting you. When I called other vets they even implied that my puppies ear could have been cut off before the anesthesia has taken affect, by the way my puppy reacted to that doctor on the check up. I'm disgusted on how a vet could treat any animal in this manor. I could never tell anyone to ever use this vet ever again! All of the hard work and devotion to animals that Russ Hackler was known for, is gone more

Stay away from Grove Way 1/31/2013

I read a review on this vet hospital that I feel is right on target, so I'll quote from the reviewer:\r Do NOT take your pet there!!!!! I have always had to have a Vet due to the pets I have had in my life. Dr. Moffett is the worst Vet ever!!!! He is strictly after the money. He does NOT truly care about the animals, he definitely cares more for the green....he will surely try his best to run up your bill!!!!! He will tell you your pet needs this that and the other, but does NOT concentrate on a true solution!! He kept insisting I have X-rays done on my cat...there was seriously NO point to have them done, there was no relation to the problem I brought him in for!!! Amy, the Vet tech...absolutely horrible...very insensitive and has NO people skills!!!! Explains why she works with pets!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

DIRTY AND UNCARING 7/14/2008

Place is dirty, messy and staff does not care. Told me I'd have to put my dog down a few years back. Today he is still happy & healthy. If you care about your pet - don't go here! ! ! more

All the team at Groveway Veterinary Hospital and the Castro Valley community are incredibly proud of Dr. Moffatt’s achievement! How do we provide compassionate care? It starts from developing a quality team of individuals that are caring, respectful, motivated & highly skilled.
