Grover Electric

BEWARE check out Wisconsin Circuit Court Access. On Dec 29th, 2008 Mr. Grover demanded a $1,000 down payment from me ""as is required by my local supplier"" for upper and lower kitchen cabinet lighting. The supplier never requested a down payment (per a note submitted to the court) and Mr. Grover immediately used this money for his child support. The ""special order"" for upper and lower kitchen cabinet lighting was never picked up by Mr. Grover, although the supplier contacted him numerous times, and no money was paid on the invoice. Mr. Grover was found guilty of contractor theft, he owes me $8,000. He has made no attempt to clear this debt. In addition, Mr. Grover was subcontracted by my general contractor to work at my home. He did not have a signed contract with me yet he pressured me into making direct payments to him going so far as to collect from me while I was visiting a family member at a nursing home. Again BEWARE, dishonest practices, lack of integrity.\r In addition Mr. Grover was sued by another business again for faulty business practices. I originally called Grover Electric when I had a power outage at 11PM and they were the only one who answered their phone. They came over right away and fixed the problem in 45 minutes. For a service call that late at night I was expecting a high bill, but it was a lot less than I expected and very reasonable. I was very happy with how prompt and courteous the two men were that came over so I called them a few months later to install some new ceiling fans and light fixtures. They gave me a quoted price with an estimated time of installation that I found very agreeable so I gave them the go ahead. I was very happy with the work they did as the laid down tarps on the floor before they did the work and cleaned up everything. The final bill was actually less than the original quoted price. I will only use Grover Electric now. more

Installed faulty wiring and switches that don't turn anything on. Left me with a big mess to clean up. Extremely overpriced for the poor quality of work and skill. Was very slow to complete job, demanding payment up front not according to terms of his ""contract"". Consumer Protection has complaints on file. more

Thought work would be better. Did not live up to what he claimed to be. more

Claims to be a Christian but this Electrician took a $1000 payment stating it was a deposit required by an independent supplier, and used it to pay his child support. The reason? He wanted to claim his children as dependents therefore he needed to make 2 payments in Dec 2008 to show the court in Jan 2009 that he was not in arrears. Result: the special order was never provided, never installed and the money was not returned.
