Grounds Crew

Initially I hired the Grounds Crew for a mulch job, however they proved to be much more than your average landscaper. When mulching the beds the workers noticed a drainage problem. For years I had a wet basement. An estimator came to my house with a few suggestions and for less than a $100 bucks they fixed the issue and my basement has been dry since. Even through all of those June rains. They have earned my trust and my business. Keep up the good work!! more

Being a landlord in the Portland area I have had the pleasure of using The Grounds Crew for many jobs including plowing, yard care, and hard scape. I have always been completely informed of what I was getting into and usually given a good idea of when jobs would be completed (weather permiting). It strikes me as odd that any member of the Grounds Crew would be rude, since I have never been met with anything other then the highest level of professionalism. Perhaps your attitude was a factor. It also strikes me as odd that you had trouble with the ""follow up"" as they have always placed importance on satisfaction after the job with me. I agree with Lube, you were probably being unreasonable. Didn't anyone ever tell you that you get more flies with honey? Loose the chip on your shoulder. Both Andy and Tim are stand up guys and I would strongley recommend them to anyone in need of any kind of landscaping. I am very disappointed in the two other reviews listed here. I have had much experience with The Grounds Crew, and have always been impressed with their level of professionalism, both on sight, and on the phone. Anybody who has experienced Andy Connors being rude at any time most definitely asked for it, as both Andy and Tim are some of the most respectful and accommodating MEN I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Playing the ""old and broke"" card is absurd! These jobs take time, and many things could effect them. I suggest you hire some high school kids if your income doesn't warrant spending the money for the best! Everybody wants something for nothing, and no one's ever happy with honest work for an honest dollar. Shame on both of you. Pros: Top of the line work ethic, superior quality! I would not recommend The Grounds Crew to anyone. We had them do almost $10,000 worth of landscaping. They showed design pictures of beautiful landscaping, then brought plants that did not match the plan. Initially, the job looked fine and we were impressed with their customer service. They told us that they would stand behind their work and not to worry if some bushes fail. My advice--check your contract thoroughly--don't ever rely on their word. They told us that they would come out to our house and fix the problem and they never showed. We waited at home for two days. When you complain, the President, Andrew Connors is rude and arrogant to you on the phone. He tells you that the written contract has no warranty and that he sometimes replaces plants out of the goodness of his heart but he doesn't have to. The Grounds Crew located on 177 Gray Road in Falmouth, Maine charged me $700 to pick up a 1/4 acre of leaves. I am elederly and on a fixed income.
