We had a great dinner recently at the Griffin Tavern. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back. The Sheppards Pie, with ground lamb, was delicious. The crab and corn chowder could have been a meal in itself and was likewise quite wonderful. The blue cheese organic beef burger was not only a great burger, the blue cheese was piled "higher than I've ever been before." The menu with local variations on common themes, e.g. Griffin wings, fish and chips, and fried oysters, as well as new directions for "barroom" fare e.g. pork osso buco, lamb loin chop, and butternut squash ravoli served with coconut milk sauce, compels a return visit soon.
