We let our dog stay here for two weeks and she made it out alive and healthy. That's all we can ask since we can never know for sure if she is happy no matter where she stays without some sort of mobile 'doggie cam'. And even then, you can't read her mind. Anyway, we had looked at other boarding facilities including Pet Resorts and The Farm. We were REALLY turned off by the snotty, condescending attitude of the women who showed us around at The Farm at Natchez Trace. The woman at Greymont Kennel who showed us around not only was genuinely nice, but we could tell they would stick with what was important and no frilly fancy stuff. Your dog needs love, food, water, shelter, medical care, shots, heartguard, walks period. The Farm tries to make you feel guilty if you don't pamper your dog like she's Paris Hilton. The Farm is ridiculously overpriced and almost twice the price of Greymont Kennel which has the same rates as most other boarding facilities we looked at. Some of the people who work at Greymont are either former police officers or work with police officers; of course that doesn't always guarantee excellent service, but you sure do feel more comfortable dealing with people like that. That's not to say the place was perfect. The owner is not all smiles and his emails are curt. The woman who checked us in before we left for our trip was jittery and wouldn't let me go back with my dog. I would have liked to have seen exactly where she would be staying. Quite frankly, I was nervous during our trip about whether or not we had made the right choice. But when we got back, she looked good, and I just don't think we could do better. I was also relieved I went with Greymont because I asked a fellow volunteer at the animal shelter about The Farm, and she said she had a bad experience at The Farm. I was relieved we had not gone to The Farm and had not been fooled by their scenic location. And by the way, Greymont's location is also in a fairly scenic and quiet location outside Fairview. I think we made a pretty decent choice. So we will take her there again.
