I joined the academy about 8 months ago, and I enjoy going whenever I can. Mr. Greene is an honest guy who teaches ALL of his classes. Its a smaller school both in people and size, but that is just more beneficial for the students, because they then get more personal attention. There is currently a wide age range of students from 8 years old to around 60 years old, and everyone trains at the same time, there are no ""child's class"" or ""adult's class"". Having previous experience with martial arts schools, I would say Greg Greene's academy is the most straight forward that I have seen and participated in. He pushes his students to excel, and is constantly encouraging and helping students both individually, and as a class. From what I have learned, the school has become a lot milder in comparison to its previous reputation when it was located on South High Street. Students are given the chance to learn self defense at pace and are ""nurtured"" instead of thrown in a ring with abusive students, and often end up hurt, as most other schools would have it. On top of teaching kickboxing, Mr. Greene also teaches his own forms and traditional Shaolin forms. He performs his own shows as well, which are a treat no matter how many times you see them. Going to one will also help give you an idea of what to expect from the school. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to better themselves, learn to defend themselves, or to get a good workout. If anything, give Greg a call and arrange a time to see a class so you can see for yourself.
Pros: Great instruction, great people
