Not very happy with Greenwich Furs. My review is based on recent experience. I found them on the internet. I work in Stamford and was looking for a place local to my work. I searched on line, found no bad reviews so I thought this was the place. I have a full length fur that I have owned for over 20 years. It was in desperate need of a new lining. The owner is a fast talker and doesn't really listen closely to the requests...but somehow we managed to pick out a fabric for the lining. Due to the many snow storms, the finished product was delayed. Not a problem as we all had trouble traveling this winter. When the coat was finished, I picked it up, tried it on for the moment and took it home. His assistant covered the coat in clear plastic to travel home. When I arrived home, I took the coat out of plastic and hung it in the front closet. Within two days, is was very cold so I decided to wear my coat. While traveling to Stamford, I noticed that where the old hooks were, there were large bald spots and on the leading edge of the coat there was a dark sticky coating...kind of like oil. This was from the bottom of the coat all the way to the neck. My coat previously was in need of a cleaning, but there was never a time that it came in contact with oil....ever. One the way home I called Greenwich Furs. I complained about the bald spots (that were not there when I brought the coat to him n the first Place) and the oil on my coat. I asked , "" could it be possible that when the seamstress was putting the lining into the coat, perhaps the edge rubbed up against some part of the sewing machine?"" The guy screamed at me, called me a liar and ultimately hung up the phone on me. I was flabbergasted!!! Clearly, he doesn't care about new customers or customer service. I would NOT recommend this place. Taking my coat elsewhere as it is now in need to repairs that Greenwich Furs caused.
