Yummy!!! 10/26/2006

I went to my first churrascaria on my honeymoon in Aruba and loved it! I never dreamed I could find a Brazilian steakhouse in Pittsburgh but a quick google search proved me wrong. We went to the Green Forest and it was delicious. The restaurant was clean, the servers were super attentive and the meat just kepty coming. Lots of great variety on the buffet table.....I can't say enough great things. The only bad part was that I loved everyhting so much I couldnt possibly have 2nds!!! Great experience and great restaurant. Pros: BYOB!!!! Cons: None!! more

Something for the whole family 8/27/2005

Our family went to the Green Forest for dinner to mark the end of summer vacation for the kids... It was up to dad to make the choice of where to go. Dad turned out to be a hero! Between the well stocked salad bar, hot buffet, and the many selections of various cuts of meat that kept coming to the table, there was something for everyone's tastes. Is this a five star restaurant? No. But it's a fun place, with good food, and courteous staff. We will go there again. Pros: Good Food, Unique Experience more

SAY YES TO BRAZILIAN 7/21/2005

The person who wrote the negative ""say no to Brazilian"" review exposes himself as uncultured by mocking the waitress' accent. Ignore that review and listen to everyone else -- this place is great! Pros: the food, the food, the food more

SAY NO TO BRAZILIAN FOOD 6/9/2005

I was treated to the Green Forest Restaurant by my oldest son May of 2005 who was told they had good food. I saved up all day after reading the reviews of this restaurant and was looking forward to it. To my dismay, I was not pleased. I thought the food was bland to be a Brazilian restaurant and there were not enough tasty hot items on the buffet bar. The waitress had an accent and we could not understand some of the things she was saying and she became inpatient with us because we did not understand her. The meat servers were complaining as well as other tables because they felt the meat was not coming out fast enough. I also waited 20 minutes at the buffet for them to bring out more ranch dressing after asking for it. Pros: close to home, good parking Cons: slow service, bland tasting food more

Extraordinary 6/3/2004

This is one of our favorite special occassion Restaurants. The meat entrees quality is outstanding, the best I have experienced. The buffet bar is very good too, but I might stay away from raw seafood and quail eggs. These are difficult to keep fresh on a buffet bar, if the restaurant is not really busy. The Sangria is very good. The Service is friendly and very good, however with some of the servers there can be a language barrier. I would say we are somewhat regular patrons now, but on our second visit (2 months after our first visit) the waitress remembered our name. A very fun and friendly place. Pros: Great food, Great Service, Great Parking more

Amazing! 10/29/2003

This is a meat lover's paradise! The first time went went (2 couples) it was on the recommendation of my boyfriend's boss. None of us left there hungry, that's for sure! The food was fantastic and never ending. We all decided that we would have to take everyone that we knew there so they could experience it for themselves. The second time we went it was with a group of 6...and this is a great place for a large group. I agree with other reveiwers that said to go easy - if you can - on the salad bar and buffet. And definitely try the grilled pineapple if they have it. The wait staff is great...kind, courteous and fun! It's a pleasure to dine here - just be sure to wear stretchy pants, cuz you are going to be full! Pros: great parking, great waitstaff, delicious food more

Bring on Brazil !! 1/7/2003

Took my sister here for her birthday last Friday. Wanted to try someplace different. We were 4 adults and 3 children- very 'kid friendly' restaurant. No one minded the food on the floor under my 9-month old and the wait staff were engaging all of my kids in brief converstaions throughout the evening. Food was delicious ! Service was very friendly and attentive. Tip for 1st timers: Go easy on the salad bar and the hot food buffet (although it will be difficult)... ask for thin slices of the meat initially so that you can be in shape for ROUND 2 of all your favorites. Top sirloin of beef was so incredible that my 7 year old daughter asked for seconds! My 3 year old waved her hand high in the air for a second sausage! Definitely will return for more 'special occasion dinners'. Great way to spend an evening! Pros: kid friendly, wonderful staff more

Great food! 8/7/2002

The food was excellent. Very fun to eat with a group here. Salad bar well maintained and stocked throughout entire late evening I was there. Pros: Very Good Food, Neverending! Cons: Loud band on weekends more
