At Green Acres Preschool, we provide a nurturing facility with respect and consideration for each child's individual needs. We want each child to leave our facility with good overall self-esteem and discipline to succeed in meeting the challenges of today's society.
We offer a large variety of activities to help stimulate the minds of the children in our care including arts & crafts, math, science, language, music, gym, playtime, outdoor activities, and field trips. All of our programs are organized for maximum fun and learning to ensure that your child enjoys each moment he/she spends in our care.
Our teachers and caregivers are enthusiastic and highly-trained professionals in early childhood development. Each of our programs has undergone careful planning and is structured to encourage curiosity for learning, social interaction, and creativity.

Our Philosophy!
We believe that every child needs to feel loved, accepted, secure, protected, independent, have faith, learn self-control and respect in a homey atmosphere that meets all health, safety and state licensing regulations with a professional caring staff.
33 Years Serving the Community
Green Acres Preschool meets all the requirements of the NAECY and is created to meet the changing needs of today's children to attain the necessary readiness skills for kindergarten. We do not use a purchased program, but one that has been developed to incorporate all the necessary skills recommended in the Delaware Early Learning Foundations for School Success.
We include a variety of play centers, learning centers and hands on activities which are reinforced with a take home sheet for parent perusal. The program is individually developed according to the age of the child. Our schedule consists of circle time, play center time, story time, individual hands on activities, art and crafts, table time, and snack time, at which a non-denominational grace is said before eating. Self-help and social skills as well as manners are incorporated in the program. At the end of morning activities, children take turns with calendar, weather, and pledge of allegiance to the flag.
Weather permitting, we try to get outside at the end of the day for part-time preschool children and several outside play periods are scheduled for full day and extended day children. We have a Christmas program for the pre-K groups before the holiday season in which the children take part in the story of the first Christmas. This program is part of our social studies unit and gives the children a chance to perform in front of a group. We also have a spring graduation program.
