The workers seem more involved in smoking, watching tv, sleeping, and socializing with other employees rather than actually working...I'm not sure what the job description intails...

Comment for complaints 1/17/2012

This is a comment for the person complaing. Amazing that you would complain you put your mother in a for profit medicare facility (free for you) and complain. The business in order to make money has to keep its cost as low as possible (few employees) You don't pay but you act like a comsumer. You don't want the government in your business, you want free enterprise (but don't want to pay), you have tax money paying a for profit place to take care of her. Again, no money from you. Also, you can see the reports from the state on all medicare long term care facilities. I bet you never checked. There are many medicare places in east Texas. Even though it is the same price for you FREE, you choose that place. If it is so bad why do you not move your mother to another place like Sulphur Springs or Mineola. Visit the place first, talk to some of the residents that live there. If you really want to see a bad place visit Greenville Health and Rehab. next to the Prs. hospital. I don't mean to sound harsh but you have many choices and all are free to you. If you cannot transfer your mom in your car you car hire an ambulance to move her. You could even negotiate with the new place to get her and take care of the cost. The government pays millions of dollars to these for profit places because people do not like the idea of a government run place. If you saw what the nursing homes in Europe looked like (government run at less cost) and compared them to here you would really have a right to complain. If your mom's roomate is left unchanged then this is happeneing to your mom also. Just so you know the rule is check every 2 hours. Hope your kids choose your nursing home a little better. more

and MY MOTHER LIVES HERE??????? 10/6/2009

The workers seem more involved in smoking, watching tv, sleeping, and socializing with other employees rather than actually working...I'm not sure what the job description intails for a nurses aid but I do know that keeping the patients fed, hydrated, clean, clothed, and happy should be in there somewhere. There is no protocol that I can see when it comes to a patient being injured. I have witnessed patients falling and when I checked, it was never reported. I told 3 employees that my moms roommate was soaked, this was on Monday around 9:30pm and no one cleaned her up until around 10am Tuesday morning. Two incidents concerning my mom in two weeks one of which was 3 fractured ribs and another a fall and seizure which led to an ambulance ride to the hospital. She was released hours later and sent back to the nursing home. No investigations on employees are underway since I asked today.. I was told there was nothing really to investigate. Please if you have a loved one there get them out or go investigate yourself. They do pay extra attention to them when you are present. Pros: They pretend to care when you are there Cons: incompetent employees, hazardous supplies, unclean more
