A quick note... I AM NOT ilovegreekfood. Here is MY review: 11/25/2009

I had been looking for a decent bowl of avgolemono and a tastey gyro for years. I live very close to The Greek Flame and decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in I felt unwelcome. There were many friends/family standing around talking and watching tv and they ignored me for a good 2 minutes while I looked at a menu I picked up myself. The workers looked at me like I was crazy and I felt very uncomfortable...I figured once I sat down things would be better. Not quite. They continued to look at me like I didn't belong there. I ordered my food and tried to ignore them. The ""avgolemono"" they brought out to me was some incredibly over peppered chicken broth with little to no lemon in it. The egg was totally broken and floating at the top so I could tell it had been on the burner for quite a long time. Not only that but they had celery and carrots in it! Then I notice instead of rice, they use orzo..which would have been alright if they weren't so overcooked that they turned to mush as soon as your tongue touched them. It was the most awful bowl of soup i've ever had. Not only was it NOT avgolemono at all, it was DISGUSTING. Next came the gyro...they forgot i wanted xtra tzatziki and no onions..oh well. I ate it anyway and it was OK...the meat was undercooked and they wrapped it so awful i had to take it apart and put it back together correctly. The Greek Flame Taverna had to be the most awful restaurant I have ever been to..not to mention the worst greek. And coming from someone who lives in Orlando with a million other horrible greek restaurants..that's saying a lot. Pros: nothing. these people can't cook OR smile. Cons: food, price, atmosphere, TV, attitude, cockiness more

Please disregard the review posted below by 'Ilovegreekfood' as this is a scam. They registered under another name 'suitesugar' and posted another poor review which is listed under the other location for the restaurant address. As you can tell both of this persons reviews were posted on the exact same date and both names show no information under their profiles. We are very proud of our hard work and excellent food at the Greek Flame Taverna which shows by our repeat winnings of the Foodie Awards for the past four years. We treasure our clients and will provide the best food as well as service to meet anyone's needs. You can visit our website for REAL reviews. Sincerely, The Chrissanthidis Family more

T.V. Dinners? 10/27/2008

They microwave their food. Enough said. They don't ever cover their food when it's put into the refrigerator. And only people who don't know Greek food call it chicken lemon soup. Thumbs totally down. Pros: The pepsi is good. Cons: Everything else tastes like pepper? I don't get it... the place dosen't know what they're doing. more

Fabulous Home Style Greek Food!! 9/16/2002

My mother is Greek; I know my Greek food. This is the best tasting Greek food restaurant in Orlando that rivals quality anywhere in the state. The Owners both work together to create mouthwatering dishes. Do not miss the Barbouni, Snapper, Lamb Chops and Lamb roasts. Side dishes are home cooked, not out of cans. Beans are wonderful and lentil soup like mom's. Try the fried zuchini and egglplant appetiziers --- mmm good! Fresh salads with upgrade Feta and perfect seasoning complement any dish. Nice retsina and an assortment of other beverages and home cooked desserts. A variety of offerings that I have yet to go through; you must eat here to eat Greek. The Owners are extremely hospitable, very nice people. Their daughter manages the register and does a fine job as a host/ server. All servers are great. Convenient location on 436, worth driving to wherever you are. Pros: quality food, dedicated management, great service Cons: hard to come up with more
