i love this store! i have bought my last 4 pairs of sneakers there, and my last 2 pairs of track spikes. the staff is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help, to make sure you get exactly what is right for you. all of my shoes have fit perfectly and been extremely comfortable/ good for my feet. i have also bought tons of clothes there including: spandex, tanks, shorts, long sleeve shirts, jackets, half-zips, socks, headband and gloves. I also got a very durable and reliable timex watch there. the prices are good and the quality of the products is amazing! not only have i bought stuff for myself there but as the captain of the track team at my high school, i ordered warm-ups through them. it was very easy and they came out exactly how i had envisioned! great locations, great products, and outstanding staff!!! more

This store was fun just to browse. The building itself is beautiful and the gear offered fit all my needs from rainy weather to sweltering heat. Because this store offers shoes that are actually designed for running and supporting higher mileage needs, they do cost more than sweatshop shoes you find at Wal-Mart. Greater Boston is a great store for avid runners like myself. There are numerous brands and styles to choose from, each offering their unique quality. Hats off to the staff. Running is one of those sports where an ill-fitting pair of shoes or a seam in the wrong place can wreak havoc and make the run miserable. For that reason, I'm somewhat picky about my running gear. When my friend who lives near Lexington told me about this great new running store that opened up (a couple years ago) I decided to check it out even though I live in NH. I was thrilled with my experience there. The employees actually know about running and how to fit shoes. The store carries a lot of nice gear for a reasonable price. Now I go down about once a month to pick up some gear and gels. Since it's over an hour drive, I go on Tuesdays so I can join the group run after doing a little shopping. It's a lot of fun and I'm really glad that my friend turned me on to this great store. I've been happy with both the selection and the service. Pros: excellent selection and customer service more

This is the best running shoe store in Boston!! I have had lower leg problems for years and have always worn the same shoe. The sales guys took into account my shoe preference but put me in a new shoe that was better for me as a runner. I've been running in my new shoes for two months and my legs have never felt better. I wouldn't shop anywhere else for running shoes. This store has every brand and style and the sales guys really take the time to fit each and every customer. As a former collegiate runner and now a high school cross country/track coach I have purchased my fair share of running gear. I can say without hesitation the Greater Boston Running Company is simply the best when it comes to selection, customer service and price. This past fall I made a team purchase for new warm up jackets, pants, shorts and singlets. After much debate among my athletes, and trying on various different styles, we decided to go with all PUMA gear. The Greater Boston Running Company then worked with myself and the PUMA rep to layout our custom design. I was most impressed with the attention to detail put towards our order and the constant communication between all parties involved. When showing off our finished product to our Booster Club they were truly impressed with the quality of product and even more impressed with the price we paid! During the remainder of the xc season I have received many complements from parents, coaches and spectators all asking the same question......where did you get those uniforms? I plan on bringing my team down this spring to purchase racing spikes and possibly go for a trail run with some of the staff. Pros: Awesome customer service, selection and price! I went to the Greater Boston Running Company in Lexington, MA and was so impressed with the attention to detail they paid towards making sure I was fit in the right running shoe. I've been running for years, which means I have tried a lot of different brands and styles of shoes and I've bought them from all sorts of stores. From now on, this is the store I'll ALWAYS go to for my sneakers! I highly encourage everyone to give this store a try. You'll get fitted individually for what type of shoe works for you. They'll even watch you run and analyze your stride. It's really great, so I definitely recommend it. more

This is my favorite store in Lexington. The people who work there know everything there is to know about running, running shoes, accessories, apparel, etc. They are all runners, so they know what they are talking about and always give great advice. And they have the best customer service-- they really take the time to get to know their customers. \r \r They have a great selection of running, walking, and racing shoes- there are tons to choose froml! And they do gait anaylsis where they watch you walk and run to get you in the right shoe. I never knew what a huge difference it could make. \r \r The apparel selection is awesome. I love Nike running and workout clothes, and they have a huge selection with all different colors. My girlfriend and I visited the store to look at shoes. I never had a problem with shoes fitting or being comfortable however my girlfriend has. She has had consistent knee pains despite trying various shoes. The sales rep (i think he owned the store) took his time to try on a bunch of shoes to help both of us find the shoes that look good and feel even better. He took the time to find the ""right"" shoe........and the left one! Now I can run for a longer time, and my girlfriends knee pains are gone.\r \r Seriously, a great way to find the proper shoe to meet your needs....marathon runner to begginer. I am have only been running since April and I needed some advice on basic running needs. The sales Rep. had me walk as he looked at my foot to ground strike. He then gave me multiple shoes to try on and test on a treadmill. There was NO pressure to buy the expensive shoes but more buy the ones that felt right for me. I ended up buying the shoes that I have absolutley love running in. The staff at Greater Boston Running Company are experienced and very knowledgable for any type of runner! This place is SO awesome. There are 2 guys who work there who know EVERYTHING there is to know about running. One of them is an incredible marathoner- 2:18! Who wouldn't want running advice from him??!! They have a great selection of shoes- covering the whole back wall! And they have lots of apparel and accessories- anything you could ever need for running! They have a group of all abilities running together from the store on Tuesdays. I've only been to one but there was a great group out there on the streets of Lexington! I really recommend this store to anyone in the area looking for a ""specialty"" running store.
