Greater Austin Dance Academy

If your looking for a great dance school that is not out to nickel and dime you, then Greater Austin Dance Academy is your dance school. My daughter has attended GADA since 2007 and she and I both love this dance school. Owner Sally Reyes has built a beautiful new school and there is plenty of seating. Ms Sally has a great moral standard and I love that she has built her school around her love of dance and the teachers at the school are all very well qualified. The dancers are taught to dance and costumes are always modest as they should be. We have had nothing but a positive experience at GADA. Ms Sally is always looking to save the parents money whenever she can. All of the teachers at GADA do a great job with all the kids and if your child has had Ms. Cari as their teacher, then your child has had the best teacher (I believe) that there is at GADA. She may at times come across as harsh but she knows what she teaches and teaches it well. She is to this day one of my daughters favorite teachers. If you want a studio that is large, crowded, loud, with no place to sit, this is the place for you. There are 6 classes going on at any one time and there is seating probably for 2 classes of parents. The other parents will let their kids take up all the seating while parents are forced to sit on the floor. Kids are running around, yelling and screaming, and jumping off chairs, while their moms play on their computers and there is no staff intervention or organization.\r \r The instructor we dealt with was unfriendly and unwelcoming and made my daughter feel bad about being in the wrong class.\r \r Leadership is not interested in getting kids the skills they need, just tracking kids by grade level, even if they have taken the classes before at another studio and can keep up. They are completely inflexible and will not refund your money after one class because of their 5 page release form that you must sign when registering your child. Good luck if you are unhappy; plan on paying $170 for a one class trial and being told that they stick to their contract no matter what the reason! It seems they are more interested in their bottom line than their customers and the kids.\r \r I really wanted to love this place and for it be our ""home"" for dance as it's only a couple blocks from my residence. From trying to call 3 times to talk with someone about registering and not having my calls returned, to the chaos that was indigent to the studio when we arrived, to the frosty reception by the instructor, and finally by the inflexibility of the owner when discussing a refund, there is just no overlooking any of this. We will be finding a new place to dance.\r \r Find a studio that cares about your child and their personal development, not one like this that is only interested in running an assembly line of classes and taking your money!\r \r more

My daughter has attended this dance studio for 5 years. The instructers are all wonderful! We have had 4 different instructors between classes and summer camps. She always is excited to go back the next week and also wants to go to the camps in the summer. Anytime I have had questions, they are always more then happy to talk with me. The Recital process is so easy. I have friends who have children at other studios, and am thankful for how Sally runs the dress rehersal process. Thank you GADA for providing such a wonderful and loving place for my daughter to learn dance. more

Dance Teacher Cari Has NO PATIENCE For Your KIDS. She is not friendly, Defenitely not A People Person, and several of our family members and Friends have observed and witnessed this. She comes across as very COLD and MEAN. Dont be surprsied if your chld comes home upset because of her. So SAD they have a teacher like this working with young kids. Cari does not use postive Reinforcement either. Take your precious child Elsewhere! more
