Get to the Great Wolf Lodge! 11/28/2006

Just recently, my family spent an incredibly wonderful weekend at the Great Wolf Lodge. And, by family, I mean my husband and 2 children, my parents and my brother and his family - there were 9 of us total, 3 were children. We opted for just one room - 2 beds and a pull out couch for the adults and the kids were supposed to sleep on the floor. Next time, I think we'll opt for separate rooms but that was our doing. The room was quite comfortable with a small wooden deck and themed decor. And, the park - well, it was just amazing - a huge indoor water park, right inside the hotel! With giant slides, a lazy river, children's play areas and a tree house with a huge bucket that filled up with water and dumped all day long, we couldn't have asked for a better place to vaca! The restaurants inside the hotel were all wolf themed with good food and great service. And my favorite part, they had waterproof digital cameras you could rent to save those special memories at the Great Wolf water park. It's the greatest water park I've ever been to! You should go too! more

Great Wolf Lodge 11/10/2006

Ok, so my husband went to this hotel for a conference. Granted it is for kids, but I was sooo disappointed in the place. First of all he had to pay extra for me to stay in his room (close to $40), they said you had to pay per person, because you could use the waterpark. We checked in after the waterpark was closed and had a conference to go to in the morning, so it was impossible to use the waterpark, but they still charged us. The beds had plastic mattress pads which were crunchy, our smoke detector had flashing lights on it all night long, the fan for the room sounded like a cyclone, and we had food in the restaurant which was deli meats for the conference and it was an expensive, tasteless meal. As adults we would never go back to this place, I guess if you had children they would have a good time. more

we love it!!! 12/27/2005

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. If money is a concern, trying going in the off season. They always have specials. The waterpark they have here is simply amazing. And there is an indoor play structure for the kids. The rustic atmosphere is perfect for a "get-away". The rooms have a cool rustic theme as well. more

A fun time for the family! 12/9/2005

What a fun time Great Wolf Lodge is! We get my husbands family together every year now and go late winter. The kids, ranging in age from 14 years to 18 mo and the grown ups all have a blast in the waterpark, with lots of slides and fun stuff! My 18mo had so much fun, she fell asleep on the lazy river! The rooms are great too with a seperate area for the kids with their own tv. We love the storytime in the lobby too, where the kids all come down in their pjs and listen to a story and then get to meet the great wolf himself! The arcade is fun too for after playing in the waterpark and for the dads! The breakfast buffet in the morning is good with an omelet bar and lots and lots of choices for those picky little eaters! The only bummer is that you have to stay the night in order to get into the waterpark, but after playing hard all day in the waterpark you don't feel like going anywhere but to sleep! more

Overrated and overpriced!!! 8/28/2005

We were very disappointed with our stay at Great Wolf Lodge. Our room wasn't ready on time, the water park was out of towels the entire time we stayed there and part of the pool was shut down due to someone having a bowel movement in the water. At night, the hallways were very noisy with kids running up and down and doors slamming from 1 am - 3 am. It was very overpriced and offered little in the way of convenience. The restaurants were NOT family friendly and were too expensive. Will NOT go back again. more

A great place for a water-filled vacation 8/27/2005

My family won a 2-night stay here from Meijer (thanks, Meijer!) and we went, although we're from Indiana and had never heard of it. It was great! It's a huge waterpark with 3 "big" slides and all kids of wading pools, etc for younger kids. There's a big fort with a huge bucket which dumps on those congregated underneath every 5 minutes or so. There is a "lazy river"-type area where the less adventure-seeking can float for hours, and there's really something for everyone. The lodge itself is really rustic in decor and there is a real flock of buffalo out front! There are kids' activities in a clubhouse during the day, and restaurants on-site (although we didn't eat there as they were pretty pricey). My kids ask frequently if we can go back. It was a great place for a vacation! more

Expensive But Lots of Fun 8/17/2005

The Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Mi, is well worth the money if you have children who like water parks. It is expensive but it is a nice place to get away for the weekend and just enjoy yourself and your family. The rooms are awesome and of course the inside and outside water slides. They have 5 pools and a snack shop. more
