Corporate Greed 2/22/2003

Recently the entire area known as The Waterfront has been put under the control of The Waterfront Development Corporation. I think we all know what the designation ""Corp."" means. It means $ $ $ $ Concerts in the past that have been free include such artists Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allmond Brothers with Dickie Betts and Great Southern, War, Kansas, Iron Butterfly, John Phillips of The Mammas and the Pappas, the list goes on and on. The days of free talent on the river are gone forever. No picnics are allowed, you can't bring in bottled water, not even a McDolalds soft drink. You must pay the high price of vender food, $4 drinks and $5 sandwiches. Still a fun time but what was always free in years past will now cost Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother about $15.00 apiece Pros: Great new playground, fireworks in april A+, river view Cons: events parking bad, bathrooms gross, events prices 2 high more

Q: What to do? A: RIVERWALK 8/7/2002

The area around the Riverwalk and the Louisville Waterfront provides a wealth of things to do. You can stroll along the river, eat at one of several wonderful restaurants, or bring your own food and picnic on the lawn. Downtown is close enough to walk around where you can find shopping and more restaurants. Louisville Slugger Field is also within walking distance. This is one of the best attractions for people visiting the area. Pros: Free, Good Parking, Almost Always Open Cons: Little Natural Shade more
