Great Lakes Aquarium 3/19/2006

What a fun place to visit! Add to it the educational benefits and it's nearly perfect. It's funny to me how much kids of different ages can enjoy the same place. My 7 year old nephew loves to watch the feeding demo with the SCUBA diver, my 5 year old nephew loves to play in the water table and send the boats down through the waterways, and my 2 year old daughter just loves to run around and take everything in ~ especially the live birds and otters. And when everyone needs a break, we can head out to one of the look out platforms and watch the lake and ships. Definately a place for everyone! more

Not that exciting 12/12/2005

A moderatly new attraction to the Duluth / Superior area is the Great Lakes Aquarium. They made a whole new building for this Aquarium, and from the outside, the building looks beautiful and attractive. Once inside, it still has the feel of being new, however the main reason for going isn't that great. Throughout the aquarium are exhibits based on freshwater fish, mainly from the great lakes. The bad thing is that none of these exhibits are that exciting, and moreover none of the fish are as colorful or as intriguing as those of the ocean. After visiting there once you will most likely not want to go back, unless of course you are a freshwater fish guru. If I were planning out a day I would try and spend your money somewhere else, saving you boredom. more
