Great Beginnings

This school is wonderful and organized. The owners are always on site and seem to know every child by name. The school ALWAYS smells clean. The teachers in Pre-K communicate weekly with the parents and have been wonderful in preparing my child for Harbins next year. more

I have so many positive things to say about Great Beginnings I don't know how to start this review. I've been debating which point to put first for five minutes now. So let me just start throwing things out that make Great Beginnings the best daycare we've seen or heard of: 1) Mr. Lloyd and Mrs. Cindy, owner operators, are always there, and always happy to see us and our son. Any and every time I need or want to talk to them they're available, willing, and able to help. 2) The facilities are amazing. The floor plan is VERY open and roomy and none of the classes are over crowded. My wife, who has the world's lamest super power of super smell, says the facility always smells fresh and clean, unlike most other daycares. 3) The staff are amazing. Even teachers that don't work in my son's room know him and say hi to him and me and my wife when they see us. 4) The quality of care provided is the next best thing to that provided by my wife and I. We know that if Alexander is there, he's well taken care of. 5) I don't know how to phrase this one other than to say, they care. They care about Alexander, his well being, his education, his happiness. They care about how my wife and I feel regarding them, our wishes for our son... they care.\r \r I could go on, but who wants to read a book??? I'll finish with this, my wife and I continued to live in the area with more than an hour one way commutes simply for the fact we could not bring ourselves to move our son from Great Beginnings to somewhere else. My daughter has been attending GB for a few months now and they are absolutely wonderful! They feed her good quality food, they keep up with what/how much she eats, if she went potty, how long she napped for, etc. They are teaching her so much it's incredible! Everyday she's saying new words. She is learning how to share and be more independent. I can't believe the changes I've seen my little 19 month old go through in such a short time. She loves books and is so excited to learn. The staff are very friendly and treat each child like their own. They go way above and beyond any daycare that I previously used. If I have a question or concern about anything it is addressed immediately and with the upmost care. Best choice I could've made for child care! more

I have been around the Great Beginnings Pre K Program for the last 3 years. I like how organized the place is. The teachers are very knowledgeable and the staff is very organized and helpful. They have their own Pre K building in the back to host their program. This is wonderful for a first time experience with school for our little ones. \r \r *As for the comment about the Pluto thing- I'm not sure which teacher you had.... but I know none of the teacher that were there during my time taught the students that Pluto is a star. At the time your post was made there was new information about Pluto and what exactly the definition of a planet vs. dwarf planet was. I know of none of the teacher have ever said it was a 'star', maybe you have the wrong place. All lead teachers involved with the Great Beginnings Pre K program are Georgia Certified. \r \r I had a wonderful experience with Great Beginnings and I am sure you guys will too. more

My daughter has been going to Great Beginnings of Dacula since she was two. When the time came for pre-k, decided to enroll her in the Private Pre-K class rather than the Georgia pre-K class. Since my husband and I are both teachers, we understand that the Georgia pre-K teachers are tied to the state curriculum and can't deviate much from that. After looking at how the private pre-k curriculum, we knew our child would have more opportunity to excel and she received one on one time with the teacher. There isn't a state program that I know of that allows for that. Also, the students from the private pre-K class performed extremely well on the kindergarten readiness test. We highly recommend this program and will be placing our younger daughter in it as soon as she is old enough. more

My child is a cardiac patient that has medical needs. And from day one his team from Pre-K One was spectacular. Mrs. Melissa Kembrey, Mrs Vickie Chambers and Ms Kadi Brown, were absolutely fabulous in creating an enriching and nurturing educational environment. I have seen my son grow and become such an independent human being Along with the assistance of his therapist Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Christina he has had great success with creating a niche for himself. Not only was his classroom/educational experience fantastic, but each and everyone on staff from the Operational Manager Mrs. Allison who greeted my son every morning off the bus to the nutritional team made son feel so safe. My son is a little guy for his age; but he has matured and found out that size is nothing and cannot hold him back. With absolute thanks I cannot praise Mr. Lloyd and his team for making this such a positive experience setting the bar high for his educational journey. From a Mom who never new that we (my son and I) would be able to have this experience; it is with an attitude of gratitude that I am able to say that we have completed our first leg of journey. Thank you all once again for all you do more

I am honestly in shock to see less than stellar reviews for Great Beginnings. My child has been there since she was 1 year old, and recently graduated from their Private Pre-K program. I was never a fan of ""day care"" for my child, but GB is more than a day care. Over the years, they potty trained, helped wean from the bottle, and took excellent care of her. I truly believe that the staff cares for my child and enjoys their job. I think it speaks very highly of the owners that the majority of the staff are the same people that were there when my child first started there. I also continue to be amazed at the owner's ability to know every child and family member by name. They are amazing and I am looking forward to my 7 week old starting there in the fall. I also cannot say enough good things about our experience with their Private Pre-K program. My child is now more than prepared to begin Kindergarten and the teacher, Ms. Hollie is wonderful. I highly recommend this school to any parent that wants the best education, and care, for their child. more

Great Beginnings is GREAT! My child has attended GB since she was 1yr old, and I have no regrets or complaints. The staff is friendly and seem to truly care about my child. The buildings are clean and full of age appropriate toys. My child will be starting Pre-K in the fall, and during her time at GB she has been able to participate in Ballet and Swimming classes. She loves her school as well as all of the people that work there. more

I am very satisfied with Great Beginnings. My child is in pre-K there and has a wonderful time. He seems to be learning so much and his teachers are great. Everyone knows my child and seem to be genuinely concerned with helping him. more

I'm sure that great review was limited to just a few people as I more agree with the bad reviews based on my own experience. We're talking about teachers that think that Pluto has been reclassified to a "star". You want those people teaching your children? more

We have a very hyper 2 year old who went to Great Beginnings for a few months. We had a horrible experience there. The 2B classroom had close to 30 two year olds. There is no one on one time for your child. I would not recommend this center to anyone who has a child that enjoys one on one time with their teachers or is not fan of having your child threatened with "if you don't behave the trash man will take you away" story the 2 year old teachers told my son. The center itself is very clean and beautiful but that's all it has going for them. Teacher and owners/directors will NOT work with your child if they have any bad habits (biting, hitting, hair pulling, you know normal 2 year old behavior), instead they will kick you out. They never tell you anything positive your child has done, they only dwell on the negative. Don't waste your time or money. more

Overall, I really like Great Beginnings. The place is HUGE, which worries me a little. Classes seem to be large and don't have quite as much personal attention as I'm used to. My daughter does have a great time there and enjoys all of the activities. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a structured, fun child care provider. more

Just loved this preschool. Lots of great people working with the kids. They are experienced and not just out of school. My child loved going here to learn. more
