Gray Wolf Books

Gray Wolf Books, located near Bayfair Mall in San Leandro, has an enomous selection of primaily used books (there is a small selection of new books as well). Whether your interest is novels, self-help books, textbooks, cookbooks, or anything else, Gray Wolf will likely have what you're looking for. The only setback to this terrific used book store is the occasional difficulty in finding a lesser-known book. Since books are categorized only by subject and not by author, it proves difficult when you're looking for say something from an obscure author than say The Iliad. It's best to make a trip out to this bookstore if you're not looking for a specific book or if the book you're looking for is well-known, in which case there will be several copies available. Gray Wolf Books is located inside a large warehouse, with tall shelves filled with millions of used books of every variety. Looking for something out of print? They just may have it. But, be prepared to spend an entire afternoon looking around. While books are organized by subject (and occasionally into more specific sub categories), there is no catalog of what's available. The staff will be happy to help you on your way to finding what you're looking for, but it's up to you to peruse through all the titles to find what you want. If you're not looking for anything specific, you're sure to find something you'll like at Gray Wolf. And when you take it up front to pay, you'll love it even more when they tell you the price. It's not uncommon for me to pick up a stack of paperbacks -- some in almost new condition -- and pay around $2 each. Be sure to check out their website, and print out the coupon for 10% off. You can hang onto it, too, and use it again and again. The store is open Wednesday through Saturday, and will also buy and trade books you'd like to get rid of.
