I had some serious cords and knots in my back. Once I met with Gina and explained that I was looking for a torture treatment and not a "Fluffy Feel Good" massage, she changed her routine and gave me the best deep tissue massage I have ever experienced! I can't believe that she was so strong. Of course, she began and ended it with soothing strokes and helped me relax throughout and recover after. I have no doubts that she can do a great "feel good" massage also - she can do anything! But if you are in pain and need someone who works hard from beginning to end than she is your girl! (I wish I would have brought more $ for a tip cuz she worked for it). more

I love, love, love this salon! The two times I have gone there have been wonderful. The first time, I had stopped in to see if I could find some soap to use on my skin. I have had eczema for years and it always caused my upper eyelids to be red and itchy. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who took me around the store to explain different products that might help. She recommended the Aveda Refreshing Bath Bar. After a few uses the eczema cleared up so much. I am eternally greatful! I scheduled an appointment for myself to get a haircut after being stuck in a rut with the same style and no hope! The girl that cut my hair went over some styles she felt would enhance my face shape and my hair came out so beautiful! She left it easy to maintain and in such healthy condition. I am going to brave getting it colored soon and have no hesitations going to them! I also firmly believe in their products they recommend, I have never been able to keep the look after going to a salon, but with their help I have been able too. Thanks for the wonderful service! My boyfriend and I went for a special romantic retreat and had a great experience. When we first got there we were early, but they brought us water and cocoa. The cocoa had cinnamon candies melted in and was great. The fireplace added a wonderful touch was was great since it started snowing. Nothing like a fireplace and snow. They got us in quickly too. We got the pedicures and massage. The pedicure was above average, you could get something similar at any other salon, though the hot towels and mud wrap thing were great touches. My polish was just done ok, and they really didn't clean up my toenail area. They also didn't file my boyfriends nails. But the massage was AMAZING! We had a 45 minutes wait (just due to late scheduling on my part) but they really made it go quickly with more refreshments and they also took longer on our pedicures to help ease the wait. I have had quite a few massages and I have never been so relaxed afterwards like I was after my massage there. The massage tables are heated, so you are never cold. The atomsphere is great. They help you choose a scent that fits in with how you're feeling; it really enhanced the experience. We plan on trying to make this a every couple month thing because of our great experience. I went to Grassroots Salon for the first time a week before my wedding. I had gone to a cheap salon to have my hair dyed a dark brown and left with orange hair and strawberry blonde highlights. I walked passed the Grassroots salon and stopped to talk to them about what they would recommend. They convinced me to come to them, and fit me in right then. They took me back, talked with me about what I wanted, and preformed the most amazing damage control I have ever seen. Even though my hair had been fried at the previous salon I went to, they brought it back. The color was beautiful, and the highlights that the stylist recommended turned out better than expected. They were kind, they really listened to what I wanted, and the natural products they use made my hair healthier. They have cookies, tea, and all kinds of wonderful luxuries to make you feel like you are a star. I made a special appointment to go see them on the day of my wedding for a style and makeup, and they did a marvelous job. My wedding pictures are the best pictures I have ever had taken of me. I have also had some waxing done there, and as a first time waxer, I went in expecting the worst. But when I left I had super smooth underarms, feet, upper lip, and bikini line. It wasn't nearly as painful as I assumed. The technician was gentle, quick, and thorough. Grassroots has earned my service for life, I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. The miracle they performed for my wedding is proof enough that they are the best, and the atmosphere was welcoming, serene, and clean but not in a clinical way. Definitely a place you should try, at least once. The peppermint hand massage while they were letting my hair color process was the cherry on top. Grassroots spa was awesome! Just like the salon they pamper you, while you are waiting they give you a foot soak, and let you pick your own aroma for your service! They have a wonderful relaxing atmosphere with a fireplace that make that makes you feel cozy, and excellent trained staff and the pedicure room had a flat screen tv so that I could watch the ocean while getting a pedicure, it's just like being on the beach! They have aveda products as well, I had the aveda caribbean therapy pedicure and body treatment and was very satisfied, I would recomend this place to everyone! I loved this salon. When you get there, there's fresh water with lemon and little snacks if you want. I only had to wait about 5 minutes (I was early anyway). Then you sit in a chair and discuss what you want done. Then they use a peppermint smelling scent and massage your head and little bit of shoulders before bringing you over to get your hair washed. It was great. The hairstylist listened to what I wanted and my hair turned out great. The place is in the Layton Mall by 5-7-9 and Vanity, but it's not on the mall map. Also, even though it's in a mall, you are hidden from the mall while they cut/style your hair. Overall, great experience! The price was reasonable, too.
