Grapevine Hair Studio

After reading reviews in the Baltimore magazine and other online reviews I thought I was in luck with a great new hair salon...but I was wrong. Color is good - Listened to what I wanted in my hair color and did just that. I have thick hair and wanted some layers so my hair would lighten up a bit and style easier. I was talked out of it and now I can't stand the hair cut. It's shorter and impossible to style. When you ask for something to be done to your hair - you should be able to get what you ask for! more

I am new to the area and after reading the review below I decided to try out the Grapevine. I was not disappointed at all. The receptionist was very friendly and answered all of my questions. I made an appointment with Jen. She was great!! She really listened and discussed what cut she thought was best. I ended up with the haircut we discussed and for the first time in several years I was 100% happy. I also me the other stylists (Katie & Daniel) and they seemed to live up to their reputations as well. more

I have been going to Katie now for two years. Everytime I leave the salon my highlights look amazing and I have an awesome stylish cut. ( She does awesome short hair cuts, and Bobs...and never cuts you shorter than you want!!) Katie always takes the time to listen to what you really want, and always offers honest suggestions!! I have never been unhappy with anything Katie has done to my hair, and it is always exactly the way I want it. She is friendly , easy to talk to, and a phenomenal stylist!! Katie also takes the time to give you tips on styling your hair....and does a great eye brow wax! The atmosphere at Grapevine is relaxing and contemporary. It is a place you are not rushing to get out of!!! I highly reccommend Katie , Jen, or Danny...they all provide amazing color and cuts!! I have never seen anyone leave grapvine upset with their style! My husband has been to both Danny and Katie for a cut and he is always satisfied as well...he won't go anywhere else, and that says alot for a guy to drive 30+ min to get his hairs did :) If you are looking for a new style I suggest you check grapevine out...its the best salon in baltimore!!! more

My hair was totally screwed up from another hair salon in the Baltimore area. I thought there was no hope. Until a friend of mine referred me to Daniel at Grapevine. He did an amazing job on my hair. Soooo great. What I love is that Katie took the time to find out exactly what it is I wanted even though I was probably be vague and not very helpful. I got a great cut and color that I dont think could have been done better anywhere else in Baltimore. I will definitely be back again. more

Daniel has been styling and highlighting my hair for 8 years. He has a vast amount of knowledge about hair styles and coloring. I spent years searching for a stylist that could provide me with natural looking highlights that did not require toners or leave my hair brassy looking. Regardless of living in California, Colorado, and Arizona, I would schedule my visits to see my family and friends around getting my hair cut and highlighted by Daniel. Not only is he amazing with matching color, his highlights last more than 3 months unlike many other stylists? I have been too. He is absolutely an amazing stylist and I highly recommend him!!!!!!!! Grapevine is a quaint hair salon with neighborhood charm! You will not deal with the hustle and bustle of being shuffled around and ignored. I think Daniel, Jenn, and Katie go out of their way to make their clients feel relaxed and comfortable. The prices are reasonable and worth every penny with how I feel when I leave there! First of all, I am new the to area and I came in with a challenge for Katie. I have very dark brown hair naturally - but only at the roots. The rest is platinum blonde. That said, I also had a streak of brassiness from the last color-gone-bad that I received at a highly upscale salon in Ann Arbor, MI. I love being platinum blonde and don't want to change but I have struggled to get someone to simply take care of my roots without brassiness or inability to match the color. I WILL STRUGGLE NO LONGER!!!!! THIS IS THE HAPPIEST I HAVE EVER BEEN! Katie matched the rest of my hair exactly, as well as took care of the prvious mis-matches that had been driving me insane... I couldn't believe how wonderful it was. \r \r On top of that, the price was quite reasonable, and the staff was amazing. I have found a stylist in Baltimore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And as most of the people searching this site know, once you find a good one, you don't switch!!! I will definitely be in the area for the next four years so they have earned a loyal customer. Wow...went to Grapevine the other day for a much needed haircut and a whole new style. I was booked with Katie. She gave me the most amazing, stylish cut that fit my personality (and I had just met her!). She also gave me a few ideas on how to style my hair. I cannot wait to see her again for hair colour! Do yourself a favour and go see her...just don't take my appointment times (lol)! more

ive always wanted to cut my hair short, i was just too scared to do it! when i went to grapevine hair studio, katie encouraged me to go for it, and she did a GREAT job! she made the style i wanted look perfect on my face. ive never been so happy with a haircut!!! if you want someone who really knows what theyre doing, GO HERE! they really know what will look good on YOU. more

I went to Grapevine on a hunch after seeing so many people leaving the shop with great hair. I'm so glad I followed my hunch!!! My appointment was with Katie who is an EXCELLENT stylist and pays close attention to what the customer wants and also makes suggestions based on face shape/lifestyle/hair texture...etc.... The person I had been seeing made my color too dark, so Katie fixed that and she also gave my hair more style and shape by cutting more layers in and fixing my bangs. She gives helpful hints on hairstyling...both Katie and Jen really want you to be able to look greate every day and not just the day you leave the salon. I have received so many compliments on my hair since my first appointment. I am so impressed with Katie's professionalism and knowledge. Jenn is also an excellent stylist, you'd be in very capable hands with either one. I have found my hair home!!! Pros: close to home, excellet skill/knowledge Cons: no cons that I can think of. The place is AWESOME. more

My bridal party and I went to Grapevine to have our hair done for my wedding, Katie and Jen were amazing. They let us have the salon to ourselves for the day so we could bring in food and drinks and everyone had a great time! They were both really good at suggesting a variety of orginial hair styles for the bridesmaids and the girls all liked the end results. Our hair stayed put into the wee hours of the evening, even with all the dancing! I especially enjoyed working with Katie, who gave great suggestions at my hair trial and then created a wonderful end product the day of. I really liked how she did my makeup too, because I don't really wear a lot of makeup so she was able to keep it very natural looking. I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out. So thanks again Katie and Jen for making my day so special! more

Katie at Grapevine was the first hairdresser of my life to actually offer to show me how to style my curly hair curly. She gave me a great cut and patiently explained each step and each product that I should do at home - all very easy. She didn't push any products on me at all but I was so excited to keep my curly style I bought a full range. If you've been wanting to let your natural curls shine through but didn't know how, this is definitely the place to go. Thanks Katie! more

Katie is a hair GENIOUS! She was born to do hair and I mean anything to hair. She is at the top of her game in cutting and styling and she masters coloring. I have been to many stylists in Baltimore and Grapevine Hair Studio is truly the best. I have been so happy with my do's from Katie and I get so many compliments. Besides having the best hair stylists in Baltimore, the Grapevine Hair Studio is hip, contemporary and has a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere all at the same time. I recommend everyone to try them out.... you can not go wrong! I have never been a hair person, finding it very hard to ever get my hair to look as it did walking out of a salon. Jen at Grapevine changed that for me. She has given me a style that requires no products or extensive manipulation to look great. I get compliments on my hair almost daily, just yesterday my friend said ""I looked like a million bucks!. It takes me about 5 minutes to get that million dollar look everyday! There is nothing boring about my haircut, actually it is a very modern, cutting edge look that still looks professional enough for my bank job. I am not happy with my hair or the service. My sister and I went here together, we were rushed though after being taken late but that was the good part. The bad part was when we looked in the mirror and our hair looked so boring and unflattering. Thanks alot Jenn. more

I was referred to Katie by a friend about a year ago & have been very happy ever since with both Katie's skills & the salon in general. I have short hair & get my haircut religiously every 4 weeks with highlights every 3 months. Katie has never failed to listen & do what I've asked her to do with my hair & remembers my preferences! She offers sound advice & suggestions, is always on time, and I've never felt rushed. The salon itself is small, intimate, friendly, clean & I've never had a problem finding parking. All I want to say ...It's about time I found a salon that knows what thay are doing,,THANK GOD...After living in maryland for a year and three terrible haircuts later I can honestly say I found a great stylist....Thanks to citysearch I found Grapevine Salon.The staff is very nice and friendly.I called today and was able to make an appt. with Kate.She gave me the cut i always wanted,it looks great and made me feel wonderful.. Kate also gave me great advice and ideas on how to style my new short,short look.I love my cut and I will go back in 4-6 weeks for my follow up. Pro: very nice area , free parking and cookies.... Daniel is awesome w/cuts and highlights, he knows what works w/your face and personality I have never left disappointed and I have refered so many friends to him. Jen and Katie are also great! You can't go wrong no matter who's chair you are sitting in!!!! Pros: plenty of parking! more
