I've been going to Granville Family Medicine (Dr. Mahan) for over 20 years. I've recently lost my job and therefore I have no insurance. I've called to see if there was anyway Dr. Mahan could discount the office visit (I also see a specialist, he discounted my visits with him to $35). He said that he would not give me any kind of discount, but would give me a payment plan. His office visit fee is $110.00. After paying this, you wait for at least 20 minutes in their main waiting room, then you're called back to wait in the back waiting rooms for another 20 minutes or so. Then the doctors spend at most two minutes to see what you want. I refuse to pay someone over a $100 just for them to see me for two minutes. It's ridiculous that after 20 years of being his customer that he refuses to help me out. I'm going to find a local doctor who's more concerned about helping his/her patients rather than squeezing as much money out of them so they can go play golf or take their expensive vacations. I also plan on not taking my children to Dr. Mahans office from this point on.
